Concours to get 14R engine?

I wonder if we will see the 14R motor in the Concours any time soon. Of course in would be detuned to the same level as the current engine is to last years 14.

Just think it would be pretty awesome to have possibly 15-20 HP and 5-10 LB-FT more than it all ready has. It would be close to the BMW 1600GT in the low end.

Don't - it will never happen. You will never see 200 HP in the Connie.

I'm thinking about 150-160 RWHP and 95-105 RWTQ not 200.
The rated HP is at 155 and 102 LB. FT of TORQUE.
So the rating would be possibly 175 HP and 115 LB. FT. of TORQUE.
To me this sounds reasonable and also there are a lot of buyers out there if they do this.

Detuning the 14r engine puts it into the 175 HP category with a good exhaust system. ABS was never on a 14r until this year......now it is standard equipment...

They have to be able to sell more bikes....the way to do it is upgraded power....they have to make the market want to buy new bikes for a reason....the guys who can't handle the power can stick with the stock models....but when you want to move up...that 14r engine is just so unbelievable powerful....it will really be great to have it.

I will be first in line in my store to get the first one made...can't wait!

Hope to see this happen. That and a few other upgrades would be a seller.
What other upgrades should Kawasaki make.

The C10 had one major upgrade (I think it was '94 when they changed the fork and dash), other than that, it was unchanged from what, 1986 - 2007? One of the reasons they can keep the cost low (compared to many other sport/tourers) is because of that.

I doubt Kawa will ever make a major design change (new frame, etc.) just to add about 10% more power. It would be cheaper to upgrade the current motor to full ZX 14 specs.

If history is any guide, they will keep making the current C14 with minor upgrades until it is completely outdated (sometime in the 2030s) then come up with a completely new and fresh class leader.
