smoke
My buddy and I returned from a 6500 mile trip and he left his bike at my house and flew home. After a couple weeks I decided to fire up the bikes. When I started his white smoke started to come up from around the glove box and it smelled like burning rubber. I turned it off and left it for a week or so. When it started again it did not smoke and runs fine.
Any thoughts? The connie has 23,000 miles on it.

Although it may seem like it came off the glove box, it most likely was something on the exhaust that just burnt up and the smoke wafted up through. There are no electronics under the glove box.

It is a sensor right over the radiator ...underneath the the neck of the bike..it leaks at 23k miles and when u start it u will smell that..it happened to me..they should fix it for free..the fluid will hit the exhaust and sit until start up then will go away but it stinks..
