16,000 flawless miles/unreal for a KAWASAKI

My new kawasaki has went with NOT EVEN an idling adjustment for 16,000 miles. I thought this possible only from a HONDA product, although my Honda's needed batteries or adjustments or SOMETHING other than oil changes and tires long before 16,000 miles.

Jack these pics:

pulled over at the 16,000 mark

I had to see what was at the end of the dirt road but left before the zombies woke up

Hanging with friends on their 600RRs draggin knee pucks, no problem (pic taken from RC51 Honda with tank mounted Go-Pro cam)

THE place to eat if you find yourself sport-touring in the middle of nowhere and sign says "welcome to banner elk"

In a cloud - Ceasor Head MTN, SC

5 minutes from where I'm spending the summer, great for lunchg rides:

Yes, the big beast is at home with the litre leaners and 600's

Just another WTF, but still faster than a Hardley-Ableson

take good care of it Steve and you'll probably get another 70,000 miles out of it before anything detrimental fails..........good high mileage for a damn near new bike -- I'll bet the seat is creased to match your ass cheeks by now

Guys great but have you had a bike that in the 1st 16K miles didn't even need an adjustment, battery, bulb replaced, cable tweaked, etc etc not ANYTHING?

Maybe thats common but I've never had one like this. Even my last HONDA required an idling adjustment before 16K

Since I only own Honda motorcycles, I only know quality that lasts.
My CBX is going to be 32 next month.

fasterspider, I agree 100%

if Honda's ST1300 sport-tourer with luggage and windshield was half the bike I'd have bought one, but I picked performance over quality this time

A dead friend of mine had a 1983 CB1100F with 125,000 miles on it.
The head was rebuilt once and the cam chain A replaced once.
He died on a Yammie @ 130mph when he collided with a car head on.
He should have stayed with a Honda

Yamaha? I'm not a Yami fan but I own one. 15,000 miles and all its needed it a battery and a throttle cable adjustment. Thats hard miles and a few track days too. Great bike/engine.

Still can't match this KAWASAKI, not even my Honda's have went this far without a minor adjustment or tweak

IMHO cable adjustments or for that matter any normal adjustment should not be held against any bike. The first thing I do when I get a new bike home is adjust all the cables and check all the nuts and bolts. I do it periodically and sometimes change things just to see if I can make it better.
Any bike that only needs minor adjustments like cables, valves, etc can be considered flawless, again IMHO.
And I would be willing to bet the valves could use adjustment and for sure the throttle bodies could be synced. You would be surprised how much smoother it gets with a sync.
Also batteries, even the best battery, on the finest most dependable vehicles can fail and shouldn't be considered a fault.

TedGI agree 100%, but my cables nor idling nor ANYTHING have needed an adjustment on my C14!

Its going to blow up and leave me on the side of the road, this just isn't normal for a bike.

I'm going to ride it to Tampa next next just to check on the house and crank up truck, and Yamaha. I know its going to be so fvcking hot down there I'll be right back up. 1400 more miles on the bike.

This weekend its getting tons more mountains miles. SOB is bound to blow up soon!
