4,243 mile ride- and the Connie14 is back in my garage.

A few vacation days, a few days working remotely from the hotels.

Family, close friends and such, and curves and curves. WV, NC, TN, KY, OH, GA, NC, SC, and back in Tampa, FL

I usually take scenic pics and curves but didn't take anything but random pics this trip. Thought I'd share a few:

It all started taking the Connie on a business trip (Tampa to Miami).

Miami's Southbeach.

From Miami to Asheville, thats another story. Anyway, the Connie 14 was a virgin to the Tail of Dragon, had to fix all that and run Deal's Gap like a tourist or such.

And the whole ride is open again, but where we used to turn around we MUST turn around at the bottom by the lake (rock slide still in the way).

Then rockin the cabin with friends for a few days. The deep gravel driveway that led up to the very front of it had my "traction control" display on the dash going crazy but my bike never spun once in it going up.

Hit back mountain curves deep within Kentucky and found myself at Loretta Lynn's childhood pad in butcher hollow

Spent a night in Charleston, WV before smacking the rural twistie roads (which are among my favorite anywhere)

Then found myself out of nowhere in the town where they are mourning miners.

When in WV, eat at one of the TUDOR's biscuit joints!

Sundown on a racetrack, was a nice place to stop and stretch.

Crossville, TN, was there for a group ride. I met Aimee on her Adventure BMW bike. Her and I took my bike 2-up everywhere all weekend, hers was never cranked after she parked it.

We're fortunate to ride with this group!

Aimee and I cruising

Looking bloated up in our rain suits, wow we got poured on. Good times

When in Crossville, eat this HICKORY pit BBQ!

Lisa on the Connie

Paula accidentaly broke her key off in the gas tank.

Us at a family owned pizza joint, and the TN sweet tea was great in there. Pizza and tea, it was a carbs cheat day.

Couple of days I had to work. Would've rather had been out riding, but thats the breaks! Marriott Suite in Columbia, SC (at Vista)

Another state capital. SC

Ex wife's office. She's a flight paramedic in GA, and her office looks almost as much fun as a HONDA

Good times in Charleston, SC. Although there were no curves such as Charleston, WV had. There was good friends, good times, and good seafood.

Sherry and Cyndi, thanks for meeting me in rural SC for a "Poultry Fest". I won't forget it anytime soon!

Back in Columbia again, and there's a flower shop that will custom cut specifically for your C14 bike luggage.

I love a real drug store soda fountain. They had hand dipped ice cream too

That lake looked inviting but the bait store closed about 50 years ago. A Wal-Mart must've opened in the closest town 20 miles or more away.

Break time at Bull Swamp baptist Church in a town named North, SC

"Trip set B"said this was a long, fun bike ride. The Connie performed flawlessly without a hint of trouble.

Got back and after sitting for 3 weeks (and me forgetting to put it on the battery tender), this one fired right up and I went for a ride

Thanks for the pics. Looks like you had the best of both worlds. A little work and a lot of friends and riding.

Wish I'd known of your trip since I live about 15 miles from the TN roadblock at the foot of the mountain.
Next time keep me posted and we'll hook up.

Glad you had a safe trip, thanks for posting up.

Dan,

Thanks!

I just rode that quickly en route from Asheville, NC to Crossville, TN. As I mentioned I'll be coming up there this summer to spend real time and of course I'll look you up (fair warning!)

The problem here is mostly the weather. It snowed Monday and today is 75 degrees. The roads are still getting sanded. But they get sanded if a dog pisses on them.
