I took a 300 mile ride last week, about half highway and half back roads. I got 43.5 on the highway and about 42 on the back roads. I can deal with that I guess. I still wish I had a reserve. I'm afraid to test how far I can go when the fuel light starts flashing. I fill up then and my trip gauge is around 150.

hold down the top button (mode, i think) for 3 seconds when the annoying warning comes on. A red light on the dash will light and your display will go back to normal. This works on the zx-14, i'm sure it's the same display unit on the concourse.

Nah, doesn't work on the Connie, I tried it!
Really annoying to only be able to see that flashing message...

Hi, On a 6500 mile trip I averaged 50 MPG. I have an Area P slip on. Lately on trips of 300 miles or so I am still averaging 50. The bike seems to get better mileage with age and the electronic cruise control on.

there is 1.1gal left when the fuel light comes on. you can do the math with your display.
in the summer i have found i can get 45 to 50 mpg easy driving with traffic. i have 15,000 on the bike now.
a cool morning ride to work is a sure way to wreck the milage. when the frame warmes up and i am guessing the air inlet temp goes up with it it seems to get the milage i am wanting say mid 40s. but it is intresting to drive the same road and get 39mpg current on the flat in 50 deg on the way to work and get 45mpg or better same place same speed when warm or bike is warm.
on a highway trip i usually stay with traffic and i get 50mpg or so most of the time (doing 70 to 75mph) unless real hilly. but for every up hill there is a down hill.....
best is 52mpg.
i am all stock.

if i go on a thrash up in the mountains with the bullit boys i will get 40mpg or less.
i have a 2000zx12 that is my hotrod i drive this bike different.

the over rich on the bike with opening the exhaust is the overlap bleeding some air out with out the restrictive exhaust holding it in. the 2008 has no cappibilities to adjust fuel at all. it squirts and if there is less air in it goes rich. it has no idea on what is in the cylinder.

Funny you mention temp. On a trip a couple years ago. The temp never got above 40 degrees. Then I averaged around 40 mpg.

i my self think temp can be worth 5 or more mpg on shorter trips. the more miles the bike gets the eaiser it seems to get mid 40s for mpg.
if i had to pick a average i say summer 47 and 41 for colder weather with the 14 miles to work.
