Best street bike ever??

Well I put over 800 miles on the thing this weekend and with the new Michelin PR2s the handling is vastly improved. That being said this bike just does it all, I can run down and pass sports bikes with ease (well not as easy as with the 10, but pretty darn easy), I can kick back and enjoy the scenery, or dial it up and never go below 100 for very long distances only slowing for traffic and cops. The thing is smooth and comfortable and with it's new found handling the thing is just a stunning performer. I love the brutal acceleration in 3rd and 4th leaving most bikes in the dust.
The only problem is that tall windshield, anything over 70 degrees doesn't let you have enough air, as soon as it gets out of the 50 here, the stocker is going back on. How can anyone ride in the summer with all that protection?

I've been loving the windsheild this winter, but I may follow your lead and go back to the stocker in a few weeks....What is the deal with its "new found handling"? Did i miss a mod?, or did you just tweak something?

New found handling = Michelin Pilot Roads 2.

Well the roads are still covered with sand so real aggressive riding is still out of the question unless you go deep into California. I went down the truck route from Virginia City and swear to god it was like a dirt road. So the results will be skewed.

I'm off in the morning for a 2000+ mile, six-day trip to Big Bend national park and the Bandera hill country. I'll be getting lots of aggressive riding in and I'm really looking forward to it. With this bike and the PR 2's it's going to be sweet. I have about 2200 miles on them now and while nicely broken in they look like new and feel perfect. The forecast is looking good for me so far with highs in the 90's at big bend and lows in the 50's. Little chance of rain the whole time. Plus, the wildflowers are blooming. This is going to be fun! I'll post some pics.

Just returned to Florida after a great ride to the Texas Hill Country. The ride to and from was all back roads and some great riding, and of course , the hill country was super on the C14. I've had it a month now and already have over 5000 on it. I still have my V-Strom as well, but it's not getting a lot of attention these days.

Sounds like the Michelin PR2's will be my replacement tire. I'm planning a 10,000 ride this summer to Vancouver B.C. and then down the Pacific Coast Highway to Mexico, with lots of detours along the way. I'm hoping that I can make it on the same set of tires??? Does anyone know what kind of mileage you can get on a set of PR2's?

I don't think anyone has worn out a set of PR2s yet. After a couple thousand mine show little wear.
