[quoteApparently it completely escapes people that a "First Look" is just that... nothing more and nothing less... certainly just as much, if not more info you'd get from the press launch. Kinda cracks me up.. people chomping at the bit for a 13 page long term review... How that would be generated in such a short period of time is beyond me...

Fellas (and ladies).. please! Don't take out your anger at a lack of information and product from Kawasaki on us! We're trying to get stuff turned around as fast as we can, but we need to RIDE the bike to give a complete evaluation...

We'll update everyone daily with our impressions as best we can...

I smell what your stepping in. The negativity surrounding the C-14's delay has got everyone on edge. Keep up the objective reports, many members including myself have a fair amount of money 'riding " on this,

Thanks again,

TT

ya... right.... don't think so, wormie!

funny to see some of the comments floating around online about our "First Look"....

Apologies if I came across like an asshole mate - I can appreciate that you guys have to spend more time on the bike. I wasnt aware of that.

Looking forward to further reports.

Cheers

I feel that I am stronger than you ever will be and I know that holding a large loaded bik up to begin with is not fun but to add Gravel, you are a brave lady! I am not sure I would have even gone into the lot!

Bin reading these blogs, hoping to find some decent info on the new Concours14. In the market for a newbie, looking at Honda ST1300, FJR1300, and know the Kaw. Any one out there capable of giving some decent advise which one to go for?? Currently riding a 96Triumph 900 Sprint. low miler, pretty fast, shit load of power. Its classed as a ST but lacks the fairing like the Triumph Trophy. Being Englisshh I would like to fly the flag, but the company doesnt want to go there anymore.

Is there a center stand?

Will a magnetic tank bag work or do you need straps?

They still have one non-ABS on the floor... and the price was right!!

Thanks, I'll give them a call.

The bike doesn't look as big as it does in an actual picture vs. press kit pictures. I'm a bit over 5'7", so getting my feet on the ground is going to be my issue.

Hi,

I got my c14 (non ABS) two weeks ago, since than I did just over 1000 km on it.
My first impressions:
1. Very smooth engine and gear shifting (in 6th gear engine is running under 4 000 RPM with speed indicator reading 140 km/hr
2. A lots power especially above 5000 RPM
3. Did not notice any stability issues so far (at high speeds and during hard stopping).

Things that may be an issue:
1. Mirrors positioned in such a way that you do not get very good rearview visibility (1/4 is blocked by sidebags). I am still playing with the position of the same as I am trying to get it right so I can see better what is behind.
2. Did some 150 km at night and found that headlights (low and high beam) were rather weak (I missed one from my old conie). I will have to check and see if they are correctly positioned before I go riding at night again.

Other than that I am very happy with this bike so far.

I rode one for about 15 minutes today at our local Kawi dealer I was quite impressed, it actually looks much bigger in person than it does in the pictures but it handles much smaller then it actually is. If fly removal has the same effect on this bike as it does on the 14 I might be trading in a couple of ZX10's on one LOL

Yes there is a center stand - it comes with one.

Magnetic Tank bag - don't know if it would work with the plastic glove box....

...if there is enough of a gap one could hot-glue some thin metal plates under the faux-tank cover which will make it possible for mag-bags to adhere itself to it from the outter surface...just make sure the plates are padded with rubber between it and the actual tank to prevent any metal-to-metal contact....
