how was it "put off" till June? I've never heard of a release date being specified for this bike...

can you be more specific... who at Kawasaki said that? Where did they say that? In a press release? Can you post a link?
please be very specific ie: post links and quotes for us...
-honestly it just sounds like rumour mongering without supporting links and info.

Well it's not a rumor and i have nothing to prove just giving out the details that were emailed to the dealer i work at this week so I'm not showing proof of anything, Then I went to the minn. bike show today and talked to the kawasaki guys there and just to back up what I'm saying and they told me today that kawasaki orginally planned to have the bikes shipping in march just like we were told at the dealer show , But kawasaki had so many dealers place orders for the new zx6 and the new Vulcan 900 that the concours was pushed back to a june ship date. But you being the almighty fish you should know all this. I mean shit why would the kawasaki dealer i work at know anything.

Oh ya I remember you ? my post I made about the tip over sensor recall on the 14 to, but guess that was true. I don't get on here to start rumors it does nothing for me, maybe for some people it does. Oh and I was very dissapointed that kawasaki did not have a concours you could get close to or sit on. But thats what happens when you don't bring a real production bike to the show. I did sit on the Duc 1098 and it is sweet in person IMO best looking bike at the show.

wow.... Superbowl sunday make you sensitive or something?
All I;m asking is that you give details... it's not fair to the thousands of people on this site to read comments like yours but have them be unsubstantiated... I've no idea why it was so hard for you to say what you just did... you could have done it in a sentence....
"I work at a dealer and we've been told the concours was delayed"...
what's the big deal about that?
*confused*

I dont think it has anything to do with the orders of 6r's or VN900's. The bike you saw at the show was a prototype. They fully expect to release this bike but never did say when. Just because you work at a dealership doesnt mean youre always getting the right info. While its true that the Concours wont be released until late Spring, no one really knows when it will happen. It was only recently that the Japanese have been satisfied with the engine and is considered a finished product. The outside..or exterior of the bike will or is being finalized and then it will go into production. I had some guy at a bike show ask me if the signals were self cancelling. I tld him I didnt know and he thought i was an idiot. At the time of the show, the factory didnt even know if it would have self cancelling signals. Its a prototype people...no one said it was the finished product. Kawasaki just wanted you to see what the bike would likely end up looking like and get you interested for when it was released. Is that so hard of a concept to understand for some people??

Alta-kawiguy, sounds like you work for kawasaki, if you do why don't you recommend a staff meeting so everyone there can get on the same page. I was told at the minn. bike show by a person working for kawasaki that they got pushed back because of the 6rs and the 900's.
Like I said earlier, the engine was recently just approved as being finalized. They now need to finalize the bodywork and options. It would take a week...could take 2 months. No one really knows. The factory isnt going to tell you an exact date. Its ready when its ready. Seems like everyone has a theory why it isnt coming out until late spring. The 900's and 6R's are already being shipped and in North America.
I hear so much about people bitching about reps who dont know all the answers to questions...especially with regards to prototype bikes that havent been finalized. People get frustrated and think the rep is an idiot. Is he an idiot for being honest or is the guy that gives you some story that he heard from someone else and passes it along to you..the real idiot?

I didn't think he was an idiot at all, thought he was very helpful. I won't even tell you what he said about a new voyager!

A new Voyager? That would be a brave move to get back in the class that was abandoned by all but Honda. Very interesting. Tell us more Bently.
