Oh yeah, how much do you weigh because 9" over can spin the tires a bit much if its geared too high? I usually run a 1000 without heavy engine work @ abt 4-5" over.

-1/+1,.. Your problem is probably going to be the rear squat'n a little when you leave the line. Keep a spanner wrench near by to stiffen the spring. I think you'll be ok though.... I had an 03' that averaged 9.50's in the 1/4 @ almost 5" over and I weigh 230lbs full suited. Friend of mine rode it sometimes and he averaged high 8's but he weighs 170lbs fully suited and the bike had -1/+2 gearing and no engine work other than a GSXR600 cam.

so with that gearing you recommend stiffening the spring? other than that, i should'nt have any other issues, should I?

Really I think you'll be just fine... You may have to go one way or the other,.. More stiff or softer to allow it to bite without too much of a squat. You could loose time because of the squat and too stiff you could have time go up in smoke from the rear tire. Its trial and error.... Sort of a test and tune process...

Depending on your year 1000 and if it's a Suzuki. the best mod for gearing for the 05-08 is to put the 01-04 transmission in it. It has the lower 1st, 2nd gear and will help a lot on your 60ft. plus your clutch plates last longer. Use the whole trans. and it is drop in. It was the best mod I did to my 06. GSXR1000.
