In the years I've been working the demos for Kawasaki I don't believe I've ever seen as many smiles when folks get off a ride.

The looks are debatable as far as opinions but almost everyone has raved about the power delivery, brakes & handling.

We've been giving out 72 rides a day and the bikes book up early. If anyone else is coming in for a demo, get here early. It's like Dunkin Doughnuts...........it's worth the trip!

I was at the track yesterday hanging with some CCS friends, I used to run in that league. A lot of AMA guys were there racing too, although it was just track time for them.

Anyway I took the Connie there and back in one day, with laurie on the back. Saw people testing them as we were leaving but didn't have time to drop in.

See you later this week though! (fair warning)

The bike felt supper light sitting on it and very comfy seating. I still don't like the transformer look of the front end but the bike has good potential if you can strip some of that stuff off. Wish I could of got in to test ride one. I also went and sat on the new Harley Forty-Eight. For a sporster that thing felt like it weighed a 1000 lbs!!!

It's a harley: it very well could have weighed in at 1000lbs.

As far as the Z1000, if its chassis and handling are as good as everyone keeps saying, I truly hope that Kawi keeps it around and puts that setup into other bikes - hopefully bikes that arent so ugly in the looks department! Make a great mid-sized sport tourer to backup the 14 Concourse! A C14 for the guy, and his wife on a C1000: touring nirvana!

Hi all, first post. I test rode the Z1000 3 times during Bike Week and enjoyed it more with each ride. Also on a personal note wanted to say thanks to Dan. You and your wife and all the Kawasaki people made for a great time. I was right behind you on the last test ride of the week on the Z1000's and wanted to thank you for a very "spirited" ride.

Hey ZX14ME,

Glad you enjoyed the rides and the Z1000.

Our route that we take includes the only four curves in Daytona we could find! It helped that the traffic was light and while we can't get crazy, we do like to let folks experience a tad of the power available.

Was that your ME 14 parked between our display and the track?

Yeah Dan, that was mine, I got some good pics of Ricky Gadson and Jason Britton sitting on it the day they were there. I was there every day hanging out in the ROK tent, the crew was great and I met a lot of new friends. Thanks again!

The Z1000 is nice but there is no replacement for displacement. If I was in the market for a naked bike I would find a new left over B-King to throw in the stable with my 14.

Bigger motor! More power! Better looking muffler bolts! LOL

If this bike had 2000cc's, most of the guys on this board would still complain.
Probably go out and buy a slip on (read "poser") exhaust, dry nitrous kit, and take out the secondary flies.

I road a new Z1000

I own a new Z1000

So far I am happy with it. But just like the rest of you, I can't help myself from modding. We'll see what the future brings.

After I seen one in the flesh i was sold.
Will get one in the fall if possible.
Curious to see if pulling the flies works on this bike too.
chubbynuts, looks like aftermarket full systems really wake things up more.
Sure hope Brock takes a interest in the Z.

Yeah I've seen the dyno numbers from Akrapovic, 14hp at the tire
is impressive. I just got in from riding the bike tonight, at this point
I just want to find some warmer weather. I am surprised by the way
the bike makes power in stock trim. The only downside to this bike
so far is the lack of wind protection. And that brings up a funny thought,
if the bike had way more power you wouldn't use it that often. 220kph
felt like my head was gonna get ripped off.

We had a custom Z1000 on display at the Kawasaki display during Bike Week that Roaring Toyz built, it was not too over the top but the really cool part was that it had a Brock's pipe on it!!

I would not want to be a tall guy thinking he could beat a c-14 on a long stretch of highway on that thing. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, and would be awesome around town as well, but if it is high mph straight run it would be tough, and rough. To each their own, it's a street fighter, and it probably does what it's meant to do...

To be honest, I think that bike looks awesome. I love the transformer look. The Brock's pipe looks killer. I'm very interested to see how well it perform at the track.

Z1400 is what is needed....engine straight from the ZX14 and not detuned......or as they say it.... retuned for low end power.....which means loss of top end.
