My heart goes out to his family, and friends of his like Karl that was fortunate to know him well.

Sad indeed.

We saw his kindness, ability, caring and comeraderie at the drags in Maryland, what a great bunch of friends he has as can be told by the way he is spoken of and was spoken to by many of you.

I've always been taught that the true measurement of a man is the type of friends he has left behind, and from those of you that really knew buddy we can plainly see that he was everything each of you say and our hearts go out to you in the grief you carry as much as our envy shows how much we wish we knew him like you all did.

Prayers and thoughts to one and all... Godspeed Buddy.

While alive, you lived!

Buddy has been sick since 1999, when he got cancer in his intestines which they cured by chopping a chunk out.

But in a very rare case the cancer jumped to his liver and in 2000 he was given a less than 5% chance of living 6mo. Buddy somehow beat the odds and his liver cancer went into remission.

That's when he decided to get into MC drag racing; something he'd wanted to do all his life.

That's also when we met Buddy.
At the track in Houston, Dallas area, Shreveport, MIR, Texas Mile, wherever there was a race Buddy was lining up, making race-buddies wherever he went. Yep, even Yellobelly.

He had a big problem in late 2005/early 2006 when his cancer indicators came back with a vengence. Buddy thought he was checking out and was selling stuff off to get ready for the end.

BUT, he beat it again, and the indicators dropped, so Buddy got back into the race scene, and paid Coby 10K to build his bike.

However in early 2007 that ole fukker cancer showed up in his lungs and the chemo/radiation was a bugger.

in sept/oct 2007 Buddy decided that no more treatment, he was gonna ride it down.

Buddy didn't want it posted that he was having problems ("I don't want any pity!"), so only a few folks really knew how tough that ole man was having it.

At the end he had an inoperable tumor on the major artery leaving his lungs so very little blood got oxygen. On monday May 19, 2008 his kidneys failed and Buddy went good night.

Big loss to his family & friends.

Big lesson to us all: live like today is the last day.

Buddy did.

Man you guys, you're bringing tears to my eyes. I didn't know buddy, but judging from your comments, he must of been a very special person. My prayers and best thoughts to his family and friends. Speaking from experience, I know what it's like to not only beat cancer, but have to live with the possibility of its return. It says a lot about Buddy's character that he he didn't quit living, but went for the gusto, something I need to do myself....., really get back in the saddle instead of just being a poser....
