Fast compared to what? :P It won't be beating any supersport 600s, but with similar peak TQ at a lower RPM with the proper gearing they can scoot pretty good...they just run out of breath early.

Extremely comfortable bikes though, my friend has one and if I lived in a busy city it would definitely be on my radar. Small, light, great gas mileage, comfortable, and nimble.

I'd get the naked ER6N, save some weight and no fairings are one less thing to worry about breaking if it drops.

Parallel twin will only get you so far....just can't do a whole lot with that motor.

Okay - then what about this - consider both cost the same - an '08 zx10r with 10,000 miles or a new 2013 er6n?

My dealer lent me an er6n while my 14 was in for its first service. While I'd not consider buying one I have to say it was ok but for the fact that it was painted girly yellow. I'd go for the ZX10R every time.

If you take a look directly at the front of that '08 Zx10 you'll choose the ER6N by default.

A better option is a late model ZX10
