ZX 14 BLOWN MOTOR
I need some feedback about my zx14...? So I'll just ease y'all into this... Ya ready .? I raced my friend Sunday .. I beat him by three football fields.. Which would have meant I won right? Nope! I have 2 cracks in front lower part of block and I think oil is pouring from the top somewheres. Houston I think I have a problem. So here's my issue with this whole thing. I bought this bike, my "1st real" bike. It was pretty right of the show room floor, but I've had nothing but issues. I think I inflicted on it my self cause I wheelie every time I get on it & ride the shit out of it basically.. I know this. But I never expected to fry a block at 15,300 miles racing a gay gsxr six'r! Really ? This bike was broken in right, oil changed to mobile 1 full syn serviced all the way so ?? Now I have a very pretty piece of lawn art and still owe 8g's ... If u have any advice for me I'm all ears.. Even u smart ass's out there waiting to say or start something way off base lol I like reading it so have at it

what did you expect ..the race bike gods to bless you . race enough and you'll leave parts at the alter of speed as sacrifices to the gods for victories..

i wouldnt think so when u respect ur bike and ur not doing dumb shit like having it bounce off the rev limiter all the time. i give it hell but i also know motors well enough to not think it was going to blow in a lameo road race.i think i should have bought a 1,000

i think i forgot to say what i was wanting to hear back also.. i was just trying to figure out what was in the front lower part of my block that put 2 pretty big cracks in the block. no indicator lights no warning just blew

hey you got something right .. bikes are not made to last long riding on the rear wheel .. i'd never buy a bikes thats been used for stunting

yea well i didnt know that or i would prob have not been doing that .. i see now that a kawi 14 is the badest production bike ever made it just cant handle doing simple wheelies from not that much of a stunter and now when i fix it i know now that u cant race it... wait isnt this the badest motorcycle on the planet, or should i have bought a 500 honda

99% of the times a 14 throws a rod it's #3. I suppose it has something to do with the oiling system or the lack there of. All that said there are thousands of us that have beaten on them for a long long time without failure. I've had three 14 motors and two of the three have been great and one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you guessed it, threw #3 rod through the block on a pass at the drag strip. Without a doubt they are awesome motors but the old Chevrolet saying "Build it loose and Wind it tight" don't work with these. Sorry for your loss, hopefully you can find you a used motor that someone hasn't spent half their time on the rear wheel on at a reasonable price. Good luck
