Sprockets

Thinking of going form a 42T sprocket to a 43T. How much do you think this will help as far as gains in E.T. Also would this be to much gear for nitrous.

I am currently 16/42

is this for the 14R? if so are you getting the dreaded "sputter" with the 16 on the front?

Still trying to figure out what sputter, everyone doesn't get it. I have a 16 on the front of mine with no problems, I am running a 44 on the rear also. Bishop if you have the 2012 the 43 will help and it will be ok on the nitrous, 16-43 on 2012 should be the same as 16-42 on the gen 1 14s. We have sprayed the gen1 with a 16-43 which is 2 up with no problems

Viper I agree I do not have the sputter from the 16T sprocket as well. I was worried about that however after reading several threads that not everyone experienced it i pulled the trigger on the 16T front sprocket, mine had been flawless.. Is there any pro/cons of the 44T on the juice on a 2012 zx14 vs a 43T. I was thinking 43T was the most common but i think i have heard some have been as much as a 46T rear.

I've never sprayed mine but with the torque she gives out I think it would be a handfull with the 44. How much do u weigh? I am 235 unsuited and my normal rider is 225 suited, the 44 works good for us on motor. It all depends on what u like. Some lighter riders may like the 43. Reguardless of which gear u run u should leave the same on or off the gas because I doubt u will or can shoot it out the hole

True j weigh 285 and my rider 210. I'm going tks stay 42 for now I guess. I will be using a controller so that should help out the hole but I don't plan to sorry really until second gear

I'm sorry for the hijack but it is a sprocket question. I have seen threads where really fast guys, RG and others are dropping rear sprocket size on SWB 14r. Have seen 39 and 40 mentioned. Is this to make it easier to launch, stretch WB slightly or both?

Thanks and sorry for hijack.

What's your wheelbase? That plays a big factor.

I'm 215 suited and I run 16/48. I'm between 65-66"
Any shorter and its heard to handle. You got a lot of weight on me so you would need a little more gearing
