Carpenters Head and Cam #'s
Over at psycobike forums a guy got the head and cam package and with modfied STOCK exhaust not even an aftermarket,he pulled 242hp and 138tq. Sounds pretty good. Now he said he had other things done to it also but didnt say,and i hear at carpenters they usally dyno with race fuel. But i wish the guy gave his starting dyno numbers to see what he really gained.

That motor has plenty done to it besides head and cams, if it is the one I am thinking of.

Never mind i found the post ... If knecum said it makes that hp with bobs head and cam package that is what it makes ....Knecum knows what he is doing ..I like the part where he did this with stock but modded exhaust .. Can't wait to see what it does with the sidewinder pipe ..

Like what?? He seemed to say it like the head and cams were the big things,and a few other lil things. Maybe i took it wrong.Have to call bob at carpenters and see what he really got done and how much it would cost.

Steve is a racer, so of course he can't share all of his secrets....but he can build you a hell of a motor. 
And the bike is not Steve's, it belongs to a customer. I will be interested to see how it runs at Bonneville. Imagine the hp with a sidewinder....

I'm confused if steve is a builder what the hell did he go to carpenters for? AHH forget it i reread his post,he had bob's head and cams added to his built engine.

I'm dying to find out how much REAL STREET hp you will gain on the new 14r with JUST the head and cams and throttle bodies. Hell before i spend almost 5 grand i want real soild numbers.

Steve is not just a builder. He is one of the top builders in the country, imo. Many, many record-setting motors under his belt. Carpenter did the cnc ported head, and supplied the cams...but Steve builds the motors.

The bike in question currently has a modified stock exhaust....so of course anything is probably better than that. The sidewinders have shorter primary tubes, compared to street exhausts, for more top-end power.

But you loose some grunt with a sidewinder. but gain some back on top end power. plus they look cool
