What's this noise? I've noticed this noise for quite some time now. I put a new tire on today, and after thoroughly cleaning the chain I notice the. Lose is louder.
I assumed it was the front sprocket (wore out) but it doesn't seem to be that way...
Have you guys heard this before?

sounds like a bent shift fork causing one of the dogs to partly catch on a gear I would pull up very slowly on the shifter to see when it starts to catch then push the shifter down the same way.
Note: do this while someone spins the tire slow if the noise goes away than that may very well be the problem

I'd suggest WEE's/Ted's move. I think you answered your own question. The camera is at the noise. You are counting the pins riding up on the sprocket to match the noise, right? The new chain will ride up on the worn teeth and make the same noise... I don't want to talk about it; And that used sprocket looked so deceivingly new.

Do you time your chain to sprockets with a marking device so the wear pattern does not change? Just asking as I am watching the last thing you did to the bike.

I have never done that before. Never heard of it to be honest.
The front sprocket is 4 years old. I'm on the O C D side of keeping stuff clean and Maintance.
I just got done putting new compressor on for air shifter, don't know if I'm going to have time today to pull chain off sprocket and check it out, but hopefully I can get to it tomorrow

how tight is the chain ? what is the fit on the rear like ?
mates 12 had a noise not disimilar but only clicked once in a revolution, turned out a new chain fixed it but could not fault the chain to look at either on the bike or off

If the noise became noticeable louder after cleaning the chain, sounds like the chain is worn out and needs to be replaced.

I've been running the same chain for about 4 years now, so I could assume the chain, but it just didn't sound like the chain.
I havent taken the sprocket off. Put it on brand new in the beginning of 09. I was holding the sprocket cover and the iPhone in one hand, and turning the wheel with the other hand.
I don't have time to take it apart today, im hoping to get a free hour tomorrow to take the chain of and spin tranny over
