Nominations for Moderator for ZX-14 section topic
Looks like a lot of you want to have another moderator appointed to this section of the site, so here's the official nominations topic. Keep it clean and to the point so we can get a proper list of those up for nomination. To be nominated you also need to be seconded and you can only nominate and second one member.
Job of the moderator -
It's thankless (I can vouch for this) and there's no pay other than the satisfaction of a job well done
Your duties are to monitor the site and keep tabs on activity that requires any action - ie: deleting Chinese spammers. Topics that have been derailed. Questionable content or problem members.
Remember - we promote free speech. We rarely ban anyone unless they do something malicious to damage the site or break some sort of law (yes, those things the cops knock on your door to chat with you about). Your job is to help make new members feel welcome, and steer smack talk to the smack house where people can smack each other all they want.
This section is for technical discussion and we try our best to keep it that way.
We also rarely (almost never) edit or delete posts. We do move them to the smack house if they are off topic.
If you've been banned you're not eligible to be a moderator.

I am entirely happy with Smokin taking on this role, but I will throw Wheelie in as a possible, without knowing if it is something that he would want to do. Both of them are on here a lot anyway so it wouldn't be a lot of work to look through all the threads, as they probably do that anyway.
However, if the mod can't ban someone, and can't edit or delete posts, are you just setting up a figurehead with no power except to move perfectly good threads (that get trolled) into the smack house? Again, this is what the troll wants!
Explain this to me like I'm a 5 year old how this is going to make things better???

Threads or posts to the smackhouse?.................I have to say I'm with Lucky on this one how is flushing good threads down the toilet because they get mucked up by trolls going to "discourage" trolls............you'll just throw out the good info with the bath water.
