clutch outer housing swap

What do I need to do to install a 2008 outer clutch basket to a 2007 crankshaft. Would I need to install a gear from a 2008 crank? All advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

you'll either need a 2008 crank or the ring gear from a 2007 clutch basket
