Congrats on removing the kickstand. Mine has been removed since I had the bike. Unlike dumbshits like you however, I've got enough sense to bring along a stand to put my bike on. You know what? Out of every person on this forum I don't think there's single person I'd like to meet in person more than you. Is that a threat? Since you're so fucking smart how about figuring that out for yourself. And I'll gladly meet you anywhere to explain it to you if you'd like. Go invade someone's asshole you fudgepacking fag. That's all you're good at invading.
Somebody please ban this dickhead. He'd ruin a cesspool.

Maybe you should have.
And I will. I wanted to test the O-ring removal gain. That's why I didn't do the other mods at the same time. Trying to be at least a little scientific in determining what caused your 3 MPH gain and also trying to duplicate said gain. We will remove the air filter and pump up the tire(s) next time to test what, if any, gain comes from those. Unfortunately, as has been suggested, just removing the O-rings didn't do much. Is there any chance you checked the DA before and after said mods? I know you said it was hotter after the mods but that's only one component of DA. Thanks.
Sorry you didn't see any gains from this mod, and for the record, I never said you would. My OP was looking for info. on how to remove orings for the purpose of combining the gains with other simple, easy and low cost mods to give me the edge I needed to win a race. I am more than satisfied with my results. To me, it falls into the realm of commonsense that lass friction would free up hp. It is also commonsense that a mod like this could easily be conceled out if your chasis is not in a high state of tune. Example: flaten the tires on a car and try to push it down a hill and measure how fast it rolls. Then, put ceramic bearing in the wheels and repeat. The result will be virtually the same. Now, pump up the tires as much as safely possible and repeat the experiment. I think you will more clearly see the gains from the ceramic bearing v/s OEM bearing with tires pumped up.
It would take about 4hp for my set-up to gain 1mph. That is all I was looking for from the chain mod. If you read my post closely, you will see that I was running "motor only" with a nitrous map(rich A/F). I think removing the filter helped alot.
As far as "Trying to be at least a little scientific" Brock stated in my post that he has seen as much as 7hp gain from the oring mod alone, and that he saw a 2.5 hp gain from removing the orings from a new stock wheelbase chain on his zx14R. I think his dyno methods and results are as "scientific" as we are going to get on this subject.

A fast bike is created by the sum of it's modifications, setup and rider. Some gains are very small..but you add up five tiny things and have a consistently faster machine. You have to look at the big picture.

I saw a little gain but, quite frankly I was hoping to see the gain you got. I guess my disappointment in our gain came across in my post as I was just venting a little frustration. We did go from a 130.81 best to a 131.27 best and the 131.27 was the first pass of the night while still running on pump gas. Never bettered that though we did consistently run over 131 once we put in the MR9. I also believe removing your filter helped you more than most because of the rich N20 map you were running. We're looking for a gentleman that can put nitrogen in our front tire and pump it up to (hopefully) 50 PSI to remove as much rolling resistence as possible. That might be too much but we'll see. We were running 14PSI in the rear tire but it's just about worn out and we will not be able to get traction with it at a higher pressure. I hope to get a new tire this week and we probably will be able to up the pressure back to 18 PSI that we normally run with a hooking tire and decent track prep. Also, our rear sprocket is about done so we had to run the chain a tad tighter than is optimal for ease of rolling. Though that might not matter as much under acceleration as just pushing the bike around the pits. Hopefully next time out we'll have all the little issues ironed out and be as prepared as possible to run the number. I know it's asking a whole lot from my combo but I'd sure like to scare 133 to death. If the DA stays around 0 we're going to give it the old college try. Again, thank you for sharing your speed secrets and hope to run into you at a track here in NC soon.
