Dot on tire sidewall
Ok, so im mounting a new u-soft, balancing has been a bit of a pain.
The red dot on the tire means what? Ive read that its the heavy point, the light point and that its not about weight but the high or low spot of the tire..
Can somebody chime in here and clear this up for me?
Ive always lined up the dot with the stem..

I may be wrong but that dot should be lined up with the valve stem .. That is what i have been told .. Problem is the tire will move on the rim on hard leaves screwing up your ballance anyway ..

I ask because I put the wheel alone on the balancing stand and not the heavy or light point was the valve stems location..

1 burnout and it will be off balance again. Lee is correct though, The dot should line up with valve stem in theory.

Never have added weight to balance a rear Hookup. Two out of my three tires have zero balanced.

My usoft never budged, ran it low as 15psi but mostly around 20. Lots of hard lanches, but my wheels have been powder coated, they coated the bead area. This could be letting the tire grip the wheel better..
My wheel alone takes 1 ounce to balance it out (guessing the poweder coating is thicker on one side?)
Anyways, ill play around with mounting the tire with the dot at the valve stem, then at the wheels lightest spot and see what happens. Ill post the findings.

Well after mounting the tire and setting it on the balancing stand, there it was on the tires lable/sticker "the red dot is the lightest point"

as the same concept is on car tires, when i worked at Firestone, they "trained" us to line the dot up with the valve stem. Supposed to keep from putting more weight on than needed when balancing.
Through my experience,....it makes no difference where the dot is.

If worried about tire rotating in rim, can drill a couple of holes and add some small screws the way drag racers do the slicks.....to prevent the same thing.

I've never seen a street tire with screws in it.
The tire is going to slip on the rim, I don't know how to stop it. Mine moves a few inches everytime I go to the track.

You are definitely retarded. You know those rims are called beadlock rims and they have another plate that the bolts go into to sandwich the rubber to the rim. Otherwise you would just end up having air leaks and destroy the rubber and eventually have a catastrophic failure. That being said, you definitely do not need it on a damn street tire.

Oh yeah, I was at MiRock this weekend and all those flat slick grudge bikes with BSTs and the Pro Street bikes running 6's at over 200mph all had screws through their rims....lmfao!
You do plan on doing that to yours don't you Wheelie?

I had to put it out there and at least try, if it keeps us from having to see just one of his ignorant ass posts it was worth it. I would just ignore the guy, but it is so damn funny watching him get flamed every time he posts something.
