Stabilizer question?
I know I sound like a complete knob asking this, but in my defense all the bikes I have ever had came with a steering stabilizer. So I wanted some opinions on what you guys use, what you prefer, whats good, can be installed with out doing a bunch of drilling or whatever. Ive got a 2011 ZX14 I love this thing its the best bike ive owned so far, now its time to go broke adding stuff. You guys have been riding these for years so I just want some opinions and advice.

I put a steering stabilizer on my first 14 before I replaced the exhaust. I prefer the feel of a little resistance in the steering (that may not be the correct way to state that) over the "loose" stock feel. I use a GPR V4. I've had it for years with no issues although it's due for a servicing. I don't strap the front down so I don't know if there is an issue with the V4. Maybe a drag guy can answer that...

I use a GPR V4 on mine too. I run my strap over the gauge bracket. It stays on (loose) all the time except when I have it strapped down at the strip. No issues.

I also use the V4, been a couple years now with no issues. Easy to adjust on the go.

I have seen alot of these in my internet searches, I like the clean look doesnt look like a big shock absorber.

If you adjust your suspension correctly then you wont need a steering stabilizer!!!

Where does that bolt up the brake handle clamp thats kind of interesting. Man it takes me months to get the suspension where I want it I have to say Im fairly close on this one tho. Im not sure I need a stabilizer I think I just want one because Ive never owned a bike without one. It doesnt shake or do anything like that I am just stuck in the world where all the other bikes had one, why not this one.

I had a little head shake when i'd let go of the bars with both hands (you're not supposed to do that) when I first bought my '07.... Turns out I needed new front wheel bearings. Now it's smooth as silk. I was wondering why everybody raved about how smooth these are, now I know why.

There have been a few times in 20+ years of riding that I did not have a damper and wished that I did. Cheap insurance for the times you need it IMHO.

I installed a GPR V1 awhile ago & was amazed at how much it enhanced the handling, I can hit the corners harder & accelerate our faster & it stops the wind from moving the blke around at speed. I never had trouble with any speed wobbles but I have lifted the front powering out of corners & it stops any headshake when it sets back down. They should be stock on any sportbike.

I had a GPR V1 on my 07 and currently in the market for one for my 14R. According to their website GPR has the V4 for the 14R, wish they would make a V1 for it, i like being able to use it as a GPS mount lol

It is a smooth bike dont get me wrong, it doesnt wobble or shake. Like I said I just have never had a bike without one so I just thik I need one. I am liking these GPRs I like that clean look, theres nothing wrong with the brocks unit either for the shock looking kind it actually looks really good. I appreciate the input guys I trust you guys have knowledge that a 14 newbie can learn from.

i think the bike is balanced enough not to need a stabilizer. Obviously the engineers at KHI thought the same thing.
I never used one on my 05 zx10 either
