New guy here realllly dissapointed.HELP

Hi guys i've been lurking for awhile.Owned many bikes just sold a 2009 zx14 last year and just bought a 2012 zx14r se. Love the bike, but here is the problem, broke it in fairly strong a few 9000,to 10,000 rpm runs, didn't baby it,so today i picked it up from the shop for the first service, had them put in amsoil 10w40 syn. So went to the local dyno for a few pulls to see, well they had a bmw1000r there that stock pulled 182,now with exhaust pulled 197[saw the dyno reads]had also a 2nd gen busa with brock exhaust but NO pc and it pulled 184. So now i'm pumped, and my bike pulled with its best run a 185hp,and 113 tq. He also had a 2009 zx14 that pulled 169 stock, but it was 99 degrees he said when it pulled that. Sorry to cry but not the power i thought it would pull, and i dont care about 185hp its the highest he said his dyno ever saw for a stock bike[barely] but know where near THE HYPE that everyone on the internet[ricky gadson pulling 30 more horsepower then a gen1 14...bullshit] but what gives i pulled 1 horsepower more than a busa with no pc. By the way the temp.out was 46 degrees with good hum. Sorry for the crying but a lil dissapoinnted.{dont forget the 197 bmw}.......is my bike just weak or what......????

Assuming that you are serious (with a board name of GixxerAnyting instead of 14RJohn) ...

How does it pull on the street when you go to 9k - 10k compared to the 09? I assume again that these pulls are WOT???

How experienced is the dyno operator? How hard was it stapped down? How much air pressure in the tire? What fuel? What gear?

More breakin is not going to help ..............

So 1 hp more then a busa with a pipe and you have stock exhaust, so with a exhaust you would be roughly at 200 which would be 16 more then the busa. I say your about right where you should be.

Everyone calls me gixxerjohn had quite a few a couple years back, anyway he strapped it down real good about 3 times he adjusted the straps before first full pull he checked the tire pressure and it was at 38 lbs.had 93 octane,4th gear pull,he said he would email later tonight the dyno chart.Soooooo happy to hear from wheelie your the man i listen to alot, like i said i was SHOCKED that the bmw and the busa were so dam close in power, and the bmw with pipe and pc killed me,and he also had a 2010 14 in 99 degree weather pulled only 15 horses down from me. I havent ever really redlined it yet,but now that i have good miles on it,and fresh syn.oil i hope to break it in some more. And i dying to get the ct single system from brocks once he works out the pc.Like i said i cant belive the other bikes were right there...oh well.

I wanted to see the chart, it might show wheel spin, but Bently may be correct, RuRu dynoed 188.9 all stock,

i can tell you the 1 bmw i seen run at the track didn't impress nobody .. 9.40's @147mph WITH A 120LB RIDER .. this was not just 1 pass and it was not done by an unskilled rider on a showroom stock bike

well 1badzx12r the bmw that was there with a pipe and bazaa pc with a tune pulled 197,that was shocking. they are nice bikes, granted his hit 197 at almost 14000rpm,but still it only 999cc,and ares are 1441's,we should be putting out more power i'm sorry.i hope bmw doesnt put out a hyper bike!! But i love this friigin bike anyway,i've had a busa,09 14,couple of gixxer 1000's,and many smaller bikes and this by far is my best bike.

Don't be surprised with a exhaust and map if you don't see 16 hp. pretty sure you can.

You have to break in the bike hard- I'm pretty sure Rickey, like Brock broke in the bikes on the dyno and therefore end up with more HP. Also- an exhuast system alone with no PC at all will give the new 14R 8hp more. So yes, you can end up with 15 hp more total with a map and pc no problem. That puts you over the BMW in hp.

And you shouldnt forget the over all power difference- TORQUE.... I bet the beemer had 25 lbs less then your bike- which means over all, your's has more power..

I cant WAIT for brock to finish up all the dyno work so i can get the ct system,i always had the alienhead pipe but now i live in a really nice neighhood so im trying to keep the bike as quiet as brock possible.......hurry up brock!!!!

Gotta say you lost me with your last statement, weather or not the bmw has less TQ does not mean his 14 has more power overall. hp is hp and TQ is TQ. Until he puts out more then the 197 hp the beemer did he still has less power.

i agree with bently, and the bike weighs over 100lbs less, thats what friggin kills me,those 999cc should be no where near us,yet they are right there and were impressed with 1441cc making a lil bit more, thats the only thing i'm confused about on this board, and there is alot of really SMART KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT guys on this board??? yet we forget about the bmw being so close.

The 14R makes power every where, not in a tiny band of rpms. My 07 is turbocharged but the power band is like a 2 stroke. I like the 2012 power and don't need to turbo it.
