2012 14R Seat

Anyone know if the seat from the previous years will fit on the 2012. I have a very nice Sargent that I would love to be able to use on the new bike.

I understand that it fits, but there are gaps around the cowl.

Shane, don't you have both bikes?

I do, but I haven't went on a cowl-swapping expedition yet. I am pretty sure Wheelie has already tried it, you might pm him...

Shane, do you know if the top triple clamp clamp has the same dimensions as I would like to use my Spiegler handlebar set up if I get the 14R?

I recall it as looking about the same. The stem nut is different, and the front of the frame is different. I can take a look this weekend.

Personally, I love the fact that KHI hasn't changed more than what needed to be changed to enhance this machine. It goes to proof of what a great design the Gen 1 14 really was that so many parts are interchangeable.

I can't wait until I am able to get my very own 14r. You guys are killing me with all the pics and 14r talk.... keep in coming.

The 14 seat is a perfect fit on the 14R.

As mentioned, the cowl will fit, but will leave gaps as the old seat is "skinnier."

I've already made a racing seat out my old one, but you can use your imagination about the fit of the cowl.
