My ZX14R at the drags , The good the bad and the ugly The set up ...64 inch wheel base , Brocks pipe , 16/41 gears , air shifted 10800 Shift point ..
Pump gas 89 octane .. Air filter in place , No P/C , No tune ..
The Air , 69 Deg , 86 % humdity , DA right at 800 feet .. Track hooking fine ,dew covered bike .. Very wet ..
Problems ..Many problems ...Needs lower gears ( bogging ) weak 60 footer ( low to mid 1,40s ) Best 60 footer was 1.41 .. Engine warning lights , EFI , TC lites flashing , codes popping up .. Start up the bike to make a pass and before i had time to turn off the TC controll EFI lights up and pops Code 62 ( sub throttle .. Flies ) Sub throttle shaft was just about frozen in place ..Could not move the shaft by hand .. Power mode and TC lights flashing every run ..
The good ( i guess ) Out of a few runs that i got i ran the best of 5.59 @ 127.51 with a crappy 1.41 60 footer , My 60s on my 09 zx14 were in the mid to low 1.30s .. My very best on my old zx14 was 1.31 at 67 inch wheel base .. This bike flat hauls ass even with a not so great 60 foot time ..
Things i need to chance and repair , lower gears , lower the bike more in the rear .. Remove some kill time for the air shifter .. Find out what's wrong with my bike tossing codes and what's up with the TC controlls .. Find out what has my shaft for the flies stuck in place .. Needs more spring pressure for the clutch .. To soft to get a good clutch feel ..
I can tell you right now with a low 1.30 60 footer this bike is GOING to run 5.40s in the 1/8 easy ... The 127.50 MPH I think when all the problems have been fixed it will run 128 , 129 MPH...

Looking at my video i can hear the bike spin the tire at the top of the track .. Seems to be hooking out of the hole ok but it did spin at the top end .. We only had maybe 20 car and bikes total at the track , so we didn't have a bunch of slick tired cars making a good grove to run it .. With all the Dew on my bike and the cars it's a wonder it didn't spin more ..
This bike has more in for sure , just got to get the bugs out ..

That was a good pass, 1:42 avg short is pretty good on a 64 inch bike, stock shock and stock clutch with spacer or springs. 5:59 @127 with no tune..... that's fabulous....
I heard the spin, but I think it was after the 1/8 mile. I was looking for the timing light, but couldn't see it.. I don't remember where it is at Sunshine. I really didn't race their track much.
All and all, good job.... you have set the mark for this bike w/your current mods.

Thanks ... I'm in the mid to low 1.30s at 64 with my 09 zx14 .. But i had that bike set up very well as far as gearing and clutch .. And i had 1000s of passes on it also .. I knew that bike very well .. The new arm so going on it next week ( around 67 inches ) and i'm going to try to get all the problems sorted out .. Should be some 5.40s coming soon ... I hope

Your air
69*...86% humidity
91 water grains.... water displaces oxygen molcules
AD = 814 ft
RD = 97.64% ...
HP correction = -2.65 %
197 x 2.36 % = 4.65 HP down = about .046 sec = corrects to 5.545 @ 29 ft @ 58*, 30%

I can't wait for "BROCK's" new exhaust systems and custom maps to start hitting the streets and race tracks. It's gonna be a very LONG day for these BUSA guys !!!!

needing lower gear? i thought we had more tq now. the trac control must of been screwing with you. you used to run stock gearing on your 1st gens. hope you get these electronics figured out, got me worried.

just a theory, cant we loop the rear trac control sensor with the front, that way the trac control wont come into effect? i havent looked at the connections but maybe?

That bike is moving, to run 5.50's on a 1.4 60'. I can't wait to see what that bike back halfs when the issues are ironed out and a good tune with you at your weight on it. Good job!

It was a night of testing with a lot things going wrong, but for only 2 or 3 good passes the time slip speaks for itself. He looked slow only launching in the low 1.40's. I'm used to seeing him sling shot out at 1.35 or less!

Exactly! When he gets the issues ironed out, gets the Evil arm mounted to get some length, and adds some gear that thing will really be flying. Nevermind the fact that most people have never been 5.50's on a well sorted out Gen 1.
