Not too bad for the old 06-11 pipe, but why do we have to compare it to the BEST stock runs that Rickey had? I like the 192 SAE's better. They probably had good oil also... you know racers. (he-he )

PS. We just did a back to back test of MR12 vs. 89 octane pump for Super Streetbike magazine on Tuesday. Fresh from a sealed can vs. right from the pump, this was in a GSX-R1000, so take that for what it's worth... but it was a solid 9 horsepower increase. I think we saw 6 or 7 on Racheal's 14. Either way, the numbers are just going to keep getting bigger.

quote: Lee, did he take it to the limiter? The way the power is climbing, I wonder if a little bit of extended revs are going to be in order?
Piston speeds are still relatively low on this motor as-is. Very common to extend Gen 2 Busa revs, and it has the same stroke.
Shane
No Shane , Wes did not take it the limiter .. He shut it down before the tach on the bike read 11k .. Not once did he bump the limiter .... And we all know the factory tach reads high .. We may have left some hp on the table by doing it but still 197.4 SAE DAMN ..If we had more time we may have hit 200 SAE... We only needed 2.6 more HP to do it ..

Yes, I believe it was right around 7 hp on Racheal's 14, for the MR12 (open can). I'd guess that fresh MR12 will make more gain than that on the 14R.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

14-R
Kawasaki put a bigger crank {38mm to 40mm }, longer rods {4mm}, stronger and made of higher grade steel and lighter pistons, they have their reasons.
Some numbers to think about: A 230 gram piston = .506 lb x G's
Gen-1-14 with 2.4 stroke @ 10,800 a piston and pin are having to withstand 2523 G's,.this is the average, G force @ mid point , 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions of crank, accellerating and decellerating to TDC and BDC before slowing to dead STOP. That little 230 gram piston turns into 1278 lbs x 4 = 5,112 lbs spinning @ 180 revs per sec,
just going from Gen-1 to 14R ,1 piston gains 95 lbs @ 10800, or 4 = 380 lbs
14-R with 2.559 stroke, 230 gram piston,
@ 10800 generates 2711 G's, = 1373 lbs x 4 = 5,492lbs @ 180 rev per sec
@ 11,000 generates 2841 G's = 1426 lbs x 4 = 5,704 lbs @ 183.33 revs per sec
@ 11,200 generates 2918 G's = 1478 lbs x 4 = 5,912 lbs @ 186.66 revs per sec
1 piston gains 50 lbs of weight for every 200 rpm you Rev higher

Kawa74,
So, are you saying the following:
-the engine crank can't handle an additional 200 rpm increase (200lbs of crank weight, if the bike is spun an additional 200 rpm)
if this is true, how do you know?

Well the rods aren't 4mm longer the crank is though. Those g force loads are theoretical with no compression forces subtracted I assume. Pistons don't fail that often from high revs its usually the rod bolts right.

No, not saying anything will fail, just pointing out the incredible FORCES these engines must withstand.
Just pointing out how STRONG and incredible OVER built these Mass produced Rocket ships are !!! With a Warranty ??
Pointing out that they beefed up crank, rods, better material,{ 3mm longer, I said 4, my bad.} so this Beast would live all day @ or over Redline reliable !!! The 14R will spin until it runs out of Cam, out of Airflow or Valve spring ,{ valve float}, just look @ Smokin's dyno chart, it's not leveling off, still climing !!! @ 202.8 !!
No worrys, this work of art, a MASTERPIECE of MECHNICIAL ENGINEERING is so robustly over engineered,
There is a Formula for Torque --Tq= Hp x 5252 / RPM .
Best I can figure Smokin's Blue @ 7450rpm = 168hp @ 118.43ftlbs, @ 10700= 99.54ftlb
