06 14 dropped rod
Hi Guys just wanna know was there a problem with 06 - 14's dropping rod no 3 bearing?

there is a oiling issue that we have found with all the ZX's..there are some case mods and crank mods that we do to help them oil better..give us a shout if you need help..

my 06 has been running strong over 4 years. i use motul 300v 15-50 (double ester synthetic)

maybe '06's don't have that problem.... I have been beating the hell out of mine and even with the stroker kit in there I have had no issues . I use rotella 15-40 and purolator filters.

I have had all years come into the shop with #3 rod shot..all from bone stock to highly modified..some guys are luck and others are not so lucky...

what kind of modification is it ? Do you need to split the cases to do it?

yes you have to split the engine cases to do it..the crankshaft gets modified for better oiling to the rod journals and the engine cases gets modified to be able to supply the oil where needed..

I must have one of the special ones too....06 with well over 2000 passes...Amsoil and OEM filters, hot lap after hot lap and no issues.
Did see one just recently spin #3, but he kept the bike up on a wheelie too long and loss oil to the pickup. His fault.

I had the special edition 06 also .damn i miss that bike, it was a good1.

I keep saying I'm going to upgrade my 14 to a new one. Well that was 2 years ago. I just can't justify buying a new one when my 06 is still running as good it does.
