Gearing sprocket combo???

I have a 2008 sp/ed with Brocks CT Duals, mapped "sec" (flies in coming out on w/end),BMC filter,PCIII stock w/base.16 toth front sprocket.

I went down a tooth on the front because it seemed too tall in 1st when riding through town / car parks etc, meant having to ride the clutch a lot going slow.
So I have a stock sprocket on rear and 16 tooth on front.

I know it is best to keep the front as large as possible for chain wear etc.
But if I go back to stock then up say 3 on the rear will my chain still fit?
What is the best sprocket combo for this setup eg flies out ,mapped, Brocks CTduals,BMC etc.
I dont drag race the bike but like to get up it when I can get away with it.

I'm SWB and found it hard to launch on the strip at 16/41 so I went back to 17/41.
For street use you will enjoy! PM sent.

I stayed with the 17T on the front and went to 43T on the rear. It makes it a different bike and more fun to ride.
Zero issues on the street, thus far....

17/43 Would be a ratio of 2.52 "Makena"
16/41 Would be a ratio of 2.56 "Drew"
Would 17/44 or even 17/45 fit with stock chain?
I reckon a ratio of about 2.60 would suit.
Its not like you can do 250 - 300 everywhere!!!!

I liked the 16/41 for the street. That's a 16t front and stock rear.

If you go 16 on the front get the rubber edged one from Kwaka, cuts down on noise.

Yes, the stock front sprocket with +2 rear will work on a stock chain. +3 might be pushing it since the chain adjuster is nearly at the max shortness setting.

17/44 or 17/45 will require a new chain, even 17/43 wont fit till you get a few thousand miles on the bike and the chain stretches a little.

17/45 and 16/42 are GREAT all purpose street/strip ratios...........i've been running 16/42 since about 3 weeks after I got my bike almost 4 years ago and love it!

17 43 is all the stock length chain will allow. Be aware that it will make your wheelbase as short as the slots in the swingarm allow and the bike will begin wanting to make the front tirm levatate easily.

+1, power wheelies will be prone when you ride aggressively

I run 17/43 on a stock chain. I took about 2000 miles on stock chain before it stretched out enough for the 43 to fit. Sure made a difference from stock gearing. Perfect for a big
rider and street riding. Power wheelie in 1st gear sooo easy and will pull tire a little
in second gear roll on's at 60. And it will still go past 180 on big end. Great Street
gearing. 6th gear roll on's against stock gearing..see ya. Ask me how I know :-)
I purchased a Black steel Driven rear sprocket.

16/43, perfect for street if u ask me, plenty of low end ass to carry you from light to light should the occasional street race occur. I'm just sayin. Not that I would do such things lol
