Upper ands Lower fairing screws

Question for some of the veterans on this board
Some of the screws that hold the fairings in place on my 09SE were loose to the point of falling of the bike at 400 miles. Before I screw something up can you tell me if they can be snugged up pretty good without stripping out . On my last Busa I could bump them, then turn them a quarter turn but they felt tight. I tried the same thing here but got nervous when I didn't really feel them get tight. Probably just being over careful. Anyway would appreciate advice from someone that actually knows .

they screw into wellnuts which are brass threads in a rubber cylinder that expands as you tighten. if you tighten more than snug the rubber can distort and come apart wiith age. desmoparts.com has some cool replacement screws and wellnuts and they have good service.

Don't overtighten the one on each side that goes into the airbox.
If you loose the brass insert out of it take your tank off , open the airbox and recover it
before starting the motor .

Call Chris

Desmoparts
1-713-222-0832

They have a compete SS hardware kit for every alen head bolt on a 14.

wellnuts 4mm 5mm and 6mm............. 5 and 6 are a good idea.

5MM for fairing and windshield 6MM for the ones that go in the airbox

that can break off and fall in the air box. Great prices.
