What a mess...

Since re-adjusting the pop-off valve on the airbox to be shut at idle, I am getting a whole mess of oil coming outta my crank case vent hose. Now this hose was extended to right beside the left intake on the air box, beside the pop-off valve, and a small K-N put on it.

Before the adjustment to the pop off valve, after hunderds of miles of riding I'd have just a tad of oil film on surrounding stuff. Of coarse the pop off was bleeding off pressure when it shoulda been closed.

now oil is blowing up out of the crank case hose under higher PSI and is getting all over, in a short ride.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

We had a bit of problem with Jesses turbo spitting oil out the breather ...Part of the problem was it was a little high on the sight glass but the biggest was the breather tube in the pan ...We cut about 2 inches of it and no more problem .. With a turbo you have more crank case pressure and it's pretty easy to push oil up into the breather ...Making it a bit shorter makes it harder to push the oil up the tube..

Interesting idea about cutting the breather tube.

Heres a fiche. Are you meaning part no 49065?

I have my oil about 1/2 in the sight glass as well, about 1/4 higher than I normally run it now that I put the turbo on.

Thanks Smokin

I had problems with that...get too much oil in that air box it will seep into clynder #1 overnite and hydrolock the engine.

I removed the crank case vent hose 5" stub from inside the oil pan area yesterday, sealed it all back up and then and re-routed the crank hose down to the back of the oil pan.

Seems to be very little to almost no oil coming out of it at this point. Thanks for the idea.

I was thinking last night about the oil pickup fixture, 49065. Do you all think its adhearance to staying put will be strong enough, since it does not have the crank hose that use to help hold it in place? It would be a real stink to fix in field if it dis-attached/dislodged.

Nobody has reported a problem with that ...The pan itself holds the pickup in place ..You should be good to go ..
