3000psi,,ok let me see if i understand this washer theory,,,,the bolt has a shoulder,, so u put a washer under the bolt to shorten to length of the shoulder so it puts more tension on the gasket,,how thick are the washers u use???,,do u put washers under all the valve cover bolts??i am just pissed off that i have to take all that plastic off

Yes you have it right, the idea is to shorten the length of the bolt's shoulder. I did not measure the washers but I would think any regular M10 SS washer would be about the same and work just fine. And yes put them under all 6 bolts, I started with the front middle one then the middle back, left and right back, then front. Dont get to worked up you dont have to remove all the plastic, here is what you remove.. 1'st the left and right ram air covers/dash panels. 2nd remove the tank cover. 3rd remove the ferrari vents. 4th remove the left and right upper and lower side fearings (i think i removed the upper and lower as one piece).
On the left side of the motor I removed a bracket that was in the way (2 bolts) and unpluged a few wires and moved them to the side. You will then need to unhook the rubber cover and push it out of the way (you dont have to remove it). You may want to check out you spark plugs while your at it. I think my owners manual said replace at 7500. I was right at that so I replaced them, but the ones that came out were just fine... And if you are close to 15000 miles go ahead and plan to check the valve lash at the same tme.

Yes that is correct. You can download a shop manual from here for free, do a search for it. Ohh and lock tight the bolts back on the bracket.

Well just got word from Kawi, it's my problem. Said I'm too far out of warranty, doesn't matter that they almost all leak. Thought I might make a stink with Kawi customer service anyway, hopefuly it will become a recall if enough customers rag on em. Guess I'll try the washer trick when I get around to fixin it. Just doin like Old Guy, wipen & riden for now.
