Prayers Needed for Mom. Thanks.

As a result of a heart attack, my mom was just taken to the hospital. While there she was also diagnosed with an aneurysm and possible liver cancer. She's 78 and could use the prayers of my friends from this forum.
Thanks for your help.
Fred

Thanks for the well wishes. Mom's condition is still critical but has stabilized. She looked better today too. Can't wait till she comes back home. I miss her helping hold a droplight for me while I worked on my 14 or came outside to tell me "dinner's ready, leave that damned bike alone for a minute and come in to eat!"

Thanks FlyBoy.
Apparantly the doctors want to do a quadruple bypass AND a liver transplant at the same time. Looking at and talking to my mom you really wouldn't know she was so ill. She looks and acts FINE and at 78 years old, she doesn't want any surgeries. I, of course want to try ANYTHING to help her. My friends say I shouldn't put her through such a major surgery at her age an that the doctors are in it just for the money. The doctors assure me that the procedure is FAIRLY routine and the chances are good for success. Being her son I, of course, want to "save her".
Any opinions or experiences from my cyber-friends here on ZX14-com would be greatly appreciated. Surgery or not??? It is a tough decision for me. :o(

Tough subject. Just remember that it's up to your mother.

She's the one that has to deal with the pain.

Me, I've had too many elderly family members who were brought back through the request of family members who didn't want to let go, not considering the state in which they were spiritually, mentally and physically .

Because of that, I also watched them live with pain and misery for the rest of their life.

It was a comfort for the relatives to see their elder family member "put up a fight", but they failed to see how much they didn't want to be there.

Don't think that I'm condemning you in ANY WAY.

As a matter of fact, I think it's COOL AS ALL GET-OUT that your mom would be out there with you while you're working on your bike!

So through all said, make sure it's your mother's wish in whatever decision is made.

And of course I'll be praying for you and the family.

I'll be talking with mom this week in depth about her options and ask the Man upstairs to give me the strength to follow her wishes, whatever they may be.
Thanks again to ALL of you for your coments, advice and prayers. It helps me when I read them. ;o)
