Rear Stand Made from 1 Inch Pipe
After trying to oil my chain a few links at a time, I got pissed off and fabricated this stand from 1" black pipe, 4 elbows and two bolts. It ain't too pretty yet but it gets the bike up 5 inches of the ground with little effort and is quite stable.

looks like he's a hell of a lot smarter than the people who paid 75+ for their rear stand.

I had the pipe but Home Depot is where I got the elbows lol.
I was going to insert a "T"-Connector midway on the horizontal base pipe and insert a handle, but none was needed. The way it is now I just step on it to pop the bike up on the stand.
If building your own and using 90 degre elbows like I did, don't forget to heat and bend the vertical pair of pipes backwards slightly near the base so when on the stand, the bike won't "fall" forward.

fabbing up some pipes for a late model ZX14 to me is like throwing together an outhouse for a recently custom built mansion you bought

I agree. But I bet MY stand could beat YOUR stand any day. lololol j/k
Fabrication was the result of chain lube frustration. I called the Pit Bull manufacturer but they couldn't get their stand delivered in two hours (those bastards) and I wanted my chain lubed NOW dammit. ;o)))
P.S. I also live in a mansion and when the wife was in the bathroom last month putting her makeup on, I almost pissed my pants before throwing together an outhouse. Now we both have our own bathrooms. lolol

Not exactly purdy, but I like that you used what you had for a quick solution, good deal. Just from my experience though, make sure the bolts going into your swingarm won't hit the mufflers on compression of the rear suspension.
Shit, I almost feel embarrassed about mine now

NICE stand you made! I don't have a mig welder (only oxy/acetelene) but have been meaning to get one now for YEARS! lol
The bolts only stick out and inch and a quarter, just wide enough for the pipe. Good warning though, I never even thought about that! LOL

Gonna work on that my next day off. Also going to put a handle on the rear stand, sand blast it, and either gold plate it, powder coat it, or polish it. (I do plating for a living) goldiesplating.com
Since I'm now set on changing the ghetto stand from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan LOL

Maybe you should provide some specs for those of us who don't mind being frugal or mass produce a few and make a few dollars. The things we pick off the shelf in stores started out from people like you. Hell! Go to a sign shop and have them make some custom made stickers of your "company." Slap them on then clear coat over them. You showcase it somewhere I'm sure someone will want one for themself. Especially at the prices of your competition, lol.
