Lound clunk when shifiting into 1st

Don't know if this is normal or not but my 07 14 clunks pretty loud and regularly when shifiting form neutral to first. Anyone know if this is normal, I have 1700 miles and I remember its been doing it since day one. Dealer did 600 mile service and didn't mention any issues. Clutch seems to be ok, as in when I pull the lever in the bike is stationary while running in gear. Thanks

Suggestion, start your bike IN first gear. What is causing the clunk is the clutch dragging a bit. Particularly when cold. After a few shifts and things warm up the clunk will be greatly reduced.

let the bike warm up before you put it in gear. if you put it in gear when the rpm drops back to the 1K range it isn't nearly as bad

Big clunk, big tranny, big clutch. Be happy. I have 21,000 miles on my 14. Mobile 10-40 4T racing motorcycle oil made no difference. If your next to someone in a car, you could scare the crap out of them sometimes, they look around to see if they were hit or whats coming.

the 14 has massive gears if you see the tranny out of the bike next to busa or zx12 tranny the gears are much larger and beefy.. saw a comparo at r&d motorsports the 14 tranny is huge.

Not trying to kidnap thread but does 14 have the same "no shift into neutral when rolling" set-up as the ZX-12R? With the ZX-12R you have to practically be at a complete stop in order for the bike to allow you to slip into neutral. Just wondering if the same applies for the 14.

No problem finding neutral from second on my 14. Doesn't matter what speed. Just a slight bump down and I have neutral.
