Turbo and/or TT cars that have a TON of $$$ poured into them vs. an "old" NA Busa at a highway punch of the car driver's choosing..
WOW! They're about even!

What ever you want to believe in your little world i guess. Like the other guy said, "Ultimate cars" from the likes of funny cars, F1 cars, bonneville jet powered cars (cars you'll never see on the street) of course they're faster. In terms of whats on the road, big difference. Places like maxton and texas, Turbo bikes are still the faster among the 800-1200hp vipers and supra's running (obvious jetcar run being the exception but once again not exactly streetable). Plenty of car and bike publications showing today's bikes beating the best exotic and tuned cars out there on road courses anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds in laptimes on stock tires. As for 1/4 mile, there's 8 and 7 second streetbikes out there just like theres 8 and 7 seconds streetcars. 6 second cars as well however the difference is the bikes usually ride to and from the track where the majority of these 8 to 6 second cars see the street from a trailor or, at best, a idle cruise here and there on the road.
And even when a car is faster then a bike, it's usually in just one dept. A 7 second car I don't see going through the curves as quick as a literbike or even a busa/14. A car for the twisties doesn't always sport alot of power so in the straights a stock bike will eat it. Highway roll on cars usually suck in the 1/4 mile and twisties are just as out of the question as well. Reliability vastly favors the bikes too. Yes you can make a car fast...making it fast and reliable is another story. It can be done but problems and failures still arise more for the car guys then the bike side. Back when fulltilt and nickslick were putting together races for the "king of the streets" dvd I lost count how many cars they mentioned were set to race had to bow out due to mechanical problems. The Tuned bikes toured all over the place to where they agreed to race with no issues. Alot of these "bike killers" only see a few races on a weekend since Pumping all that boost or spray for quick little bursts still takes it's toll on even the best parts. Bikes stock or tuned right may need a spare clutch sometimes but otherwise do it long and well. City to city races are cake for bikes which can hold the throttle open till the tank runs dry but thats asking bit much for souped up cages to hammer on it that long or again and again and again when having to slow for any traffic. Haven't met a car that cuts around or lanesplits through traffic as good as a bike either. ;-)
Sorry all for me feeding the troll. :-D

For the money you spent on the zo6 you could have 3 bikes that run well over 205 mph....dollar for dollar, pound for pound, you can't beat a bike for all out speed.

Jeez Ryu, you're not kidding. Feeding the troll is right. 140 is not well into the 140's. "Claimed" top speed of 205. So many other chatterings its just ridiculous. Kind of sad really. So... good write up Ryu, but yes, sorry you had to feed the troll.

only joke is you...thinking you got a clue on whats racing...some stupid little 1/4 to 1/2 mile roll-on don't prove shitt ...
like my friends and me who are all bikersand go to the track regularly ...bikers are whinning crying dummies when it come to racing ... and your proof of that ...thats why my freinds have to enter car races to dragrace...cause bike guys can't even afford 20.00 to enter the race without drama...
and if you think your so dayum good just enter a car race and see how many rounds you go...

Hey Smokin, nice Viper. Very impressive. I think that is what my buddy that I talked about earlier is going for. Sweet. You, however, are a perfect example of this whole ridiculous thread. I read in another thread that your first pass on a ZX-14 was a 9.82 at 145.37 mph with a pipe. No car would be on the same planet, let alone in the same ballpark as this. It takes an enormous amount of mods and money for a car to get to this level.
SupermanT...I'm with you my friend. When some are writing and arguing like a spoiled, angry twelve year old, I'm done. Goodbye old thread, you crazy thing you.

And yes two and a half years ago my Very first pass on my brand new zx14 that i had a pipe and no p/c ran a 9.82 and after a few more trys it ran somewhere in the 9.40s .... Now you come on here and smack talk me ? What the fuck is all that about ? .. Fuck me for posting what i though would be a cool video that some guys might like to see ... Did i smack talk anyone ? Hell no i didn't but you said i'm a perfect example of this whole ridiculous thread........ Well you pissed me off that's a fact ... So take your 44 post count and piss off.....

Sounds like somebody has been playing "Gran turismo" a bit much while huffing paint again. The zed is a great car but after 150 it's a dog. Takes forever just to get to 180 (like the other poster said, the 205 is estimated). Even the new "king" ZR1 did less then 180mph on the nurburgring straight and theres not too many roads or highways deviod of traffic that are as long and smooth as that available. It did do a bit over 200 on the oval test course but once again, not many roads like that available for us mere mortals in the real world.
Besides brock doing 200 in the standing mile at maxton on both a uncorked and mild modded ZX-14 AND a new busa, TWO magazine did the same thing a few months ago with a uncorked, piped and mapped 08 busa.
quote: so whats ur saying....the car will blow up before it gets to point b.....car can have the a/c on and still win ...cuz you gonna need to stop for gas every 100miles at high speed.... while that car stops every 200miles
Cars drink gas a bit quicker then bikes (the heavier modded ones will put their pistons in their oilpan running full burn a bit too long or often long before any need for a gas stop). Your once again forgetting this thing called "Traffic". As i previously said not much of a prob for a bike to slip around or between. Fuel tank range between fillups is one thing but that doesn't guarantee quicker time to your destination either ;-). A old 76hp buell will leave schumacher's ferrari in detriot rush hour traffic. Car's ability doesn't mean shit if it can't apply it and bikes are able to apply their own abilities better and more often on the street then cars can.
But like I said, whatever you want to believe (warped from reality as it is). In terms of the track, yes when you get to the elite of the elite be it f1, or funny cars then 4 wheels is king. Go down the levels a tad and bikes show to be just as quick. In terms of what's on the street though bikes do have the edge. Stock to stock or mad modded to mad modded comparison. Haven't seen a car yet offer the all around performance a bike does. Being reliable is a nice trait too.
I think I fed the troll enough boys. Anyone else wanna give the fatty a cup cake? Must be that "Zx-12 never being king" matter that's still getting to him.

I Always loved heffners work! They been showing Hennessey how it's done while allowing the customer to have the majority of his vipers parts not missing when he gets the car back (bit of a prob hennessey's establishment has been dealing with for some time ) .

Damn Smokin', you don't actually think I was smack talking you, do you? I DID enjoy the videos. I DO have a friend with a Viper that is at about 750hp right now and is trying to get where the Viper in the video is, and I used your opening ZX-14 time 2 years ago as an example of what these bikes can do off the showroom floor. The rest was directed at those who have been quite childish on this thread. If you want to chat about it anymore, just send me a pm. I'm done with this thread.
