I dropped my 14 while strapping it down on a trailer. I had the left front strap on and clicked down a little. Then when I went to strap the right side, the left popped off and over it went! I got lucky and the side rail on the trailer caught the bike by the handle bar and it didn't hurt a thing! Just tore the grip a little. I was relieved. I know one thing, that bike is one heavy bitch to pick up by yourself!

I've dropped my 14 twice , so now each side is scratched (lower fairing where the bubble is). Wish I could say it was because of corneirng clearance, but no

BB, both times I dropped her had to pick her up while she was lying on her side like a black whale, and I could only do it with the extra strenght coming from how madly pissed I was. The second time I tried to hold her with my leg....biiiiiig mistake , my inner knee part was hit by the fuel tank so darn hard that I got a nice blue/green/yellow bruise for 3 weeks now. Of course I couldn't hold her......
She's a heavy Lady for sure.

That sucks it fell....I dropped my 600 a few years back but every since then, I figure it's cheaper to install frame slider and save time by not having to pull the scratched fairing(s) off for replacement.

Thanks BB, the bright side (if any) of the 2nd time she fell, was that after the 1st one I got sliders, so the damage was less (only the bubble being scratched). That time could have been worse since the bike was standing on top of a little slope (-10° aprox.), so lifting her up on my own was really something

Sorry to hear that. I know how it feels. I was pulling my 14 out of the garage one day and the kickstand brushed up against something on the way out just enough to move it an inch or so. I was on the right side of the bike. I look down to see the kickstand was down, saw that it was so I put it down. Thing moved about an inch as I put it on the kickstand and down it went. I stood there both pissed and in disbelief. I fukkin' checked to see that the stand was down...WTF! Since it went down on/next to my jet ski trailer, I had to pull the bike up from the right side. Do that one time and everything else is easy. LOL

Fortunately, the lower fairing and rear seat cowl were the only things damaged. Rear cowl damage, you say? It hit the back corner of the jet ski trailer.

Get it fixed and don't do it again.

That's what I said to myself. LOL

Apart from the 600 I had for a couple of weeks before moving onto the 14, my bikes always had centerstands. I have never had much faith in kickstands, you park on a slope, it doesn't fold all the way down etc.etc/. Even when I park in the garage I am so paranoid I check, double-check and triple-check to make sure it is fully extended. Why oh why does the US model not ship with a centerstand?

My foot hit some gravel at the local coffee shop as I came to a complete stop......twice. The bike came to its second stop on the air cleaner and handlebar. Of course there were spectators adding more pain to the already sprained foot. After a few degrees off center you'd better be related to Godzilla.

I' ve dropped my bike twice, the last time with newly bought fairings. The heel on my boot got caught on my foot petal at a stop sign... and waammm!.... the heavy monster was on it's side. You slide out your leg out at the last second and quickly say a prayer that your leg wasn't underneath it when it fell. Then, after 20 seconds you gain consciousness and suddently yell out loud " what a stupid ass hole your were"! The big heavy bike is now on it's side and you quickly look around to see if anyone has witnessed your carelessness. If no one is around you feel safe... secure. But you suddenly realize that you now have to upright this heavy 600 lb. monster on your own. Do you attempt it.... or wait for a fellow biker to drive by? Do you feel macho or safe with your age and the size of your manhood? A fellow bike gloriously drives by and see your predicament. He quickly drives over and asks if you're alright. With a John Wayne Texas drawl... you tell him that the bike was getting out of hand... and you had to shoot it! "Fuck this bike", you say with a macho voice. Then, with a puzzled look ,the other biker asks if you need any trouble getting it upright? You tell him the bike deserved the dump and to let the trash man take it away. The other biker, responding with a startled look ,begins to speak when you suddenly interupt him and tell him on the other hand you don't think the bike would end up in the dump because it is filled with gasonline and oil and all and that to save the Earth, the two of you better upright the bike. Then, with the help of our fellow biker, the bike is uprighted to it's wheels. As your examine your damaged fairings, you quietly thank him as he drives away. With tears in your eyes you begin to add up the cost of painting/replacing your fairings. Having replaced your fairing before, you quickly realize that the new fairings will cost more than four days in Vegas with a $1,500 a night hooker. And then you suddenly realize... what will your tell your wife? A UFO suddenly came down from the sky as you were taking this turn at 140 mph and ...... Ah, the joys of owning a 14--

That sucks, I dropped mine too the 2nd week i owned it. I had it on front and rear stands as i was lowering it, i had the jack under the middle of the bike to take the weight off the dog bones and the front end came off the front stand and fell right on its side.. Althow hardly any damage occured, Landed on the bar end and the stock muffler(no loss there). BUT my GF was there and tried to catch it just out of natral reflex and broke a nail... Not only was it bad enough that i dropped my bike, I caught hell for her broken nail...

Guess I'm the only guy here who has succeeded in catching a wayward 14.

I stood it upright from its kickstand so I could see my oil level. It must have rolled forward coming up and sure enough the side stand collapsed as I set it down. I still had my hand on the bar but it just pulled my 320 lbs over with it. I yanked as hard as I could on the bar which threw me forward and momentarily stopped its descent, which allowed me to get my left hand onto the top of my power washer (which crumpled into the wall next to it).

There I found myself laying across the seat, left hand on the top of my mangled power washer, right hand on the right grip, bike at a 45 deg angle, back and arm muscles screaming, wondering WTF do I do now...

My 3 yr old daughter was the first to respond to my yells. "we're not supposed to play on the motorcycle daddy" she admonished me. Then she got my roll around seat and put it under the gas tank. No dents, no cracks and buffing removed the black marks.

I now use my son to hold it for me.

Question for the gang.....did any of you thought that you were the only "....." (suit yourself and fill in the blank) who dropped his bike? I did.....and it feels comforting seeing that I'm not the only one who have felt the pain, anger, anguish, etc.
