Yep and as of right now it doesnt look good. The 14 looks like it was tuned by the retarded guy that works at Kawi the same one that designed the tail end of the old ZZR1200 and the mirrors on the old Connie, I dont think it is a design flaw as much as some sort of break in thing or performance limiter, but IT SHOULD make more power then it does based on the kind of torque it is making down low but the A/F is JACKED UP I am taking my tuner my PC off my bike tommorrow to see if it works hopefully it will and we can see what it will do when properly tuned

Ya -- everyone's sayin' how much richer it is up top over the previous model years, which would account for the lower HP up there. I'm 100% sure that the 14 could pickup at least another 5-8 HP with a tune and no pipe swap...bringing it right up to Busa numbers. Truthfully though, I doubt there's any difference from one bike to the other. I have heard that the braking is still superior on the 14 and I don' t know about the handling, but I'd also bet the Busa puts less substantially heat on the rider than the 14. I still love my 14 and there's no Busa in sight in the next few years for me, even if it does have a walloping 1.2 more HP than the 14.

20 mins apart he said.
a/f ratio is good on busa, but poor on zx14, so once they get the a/f ratio sorted with pc3 and uncork them both it should be really close.

Yes FBA, that was the same dyno on the same day... I was there when they ran them. The owner of the Suzuki dealership where this was done also ran his 08 Busa with an Alien pipe and I'm sure all the tricks that he could come up with and ran 195hp.

I will be doing some more dyno testing in the next few weeks with the 08. We will see how well the the "temp" map from Brock is doing. (even though his maps are made for the track, not for big dyno #'s)

I would guess he did no tricks to see 195 hp as mine made 197 with just the alien head and Brocks track map and 87 pump gas no other tricks what so ever. I still think a 08 14 set up the same way will make the same hp.

Relax Bently, I didn't mean to insinuate that he did anything sneaky. I meant like oil the chain, remove the air filter or anything else that might squeeze a few more ponies out of her. He is a huge competitor when it comes to drag racing and he sales Suzuki products, not Kaw's. This was done outdoors on the weekend at a bike event at his dealership. So he was gunning hard to prove the Busa team as victors... and understandably so. Silver08 & I just rode in and put them straight on the dyno to see what our bikes would do. Silver08 seems to get stronger & faster everytime it's taken out & rode. Soon all the mods will be completed & we'll take the 08 14 back to the dyno for some real modded numbers which should be right up there with the new Busa so stay tuned! Gotta love this horsepower battle... Thanks Zuke & Kaw, we are all loving it.

I'm willing to bet the Busa will consistently dyno a higher HP due to its 1/2 point higher compression. :-?

I was not worked up, Just saying it won't take any tricks to get that hp from either bike. fully broke in I think both bikes will see around 200 hp on pump fuel.
Hawkman I don't think the Busa will dyno higher consistently once both bikes have exhaust and pwr commanders. If you talking stock then yes it seems from the factory the Busa is on top. but that dosn't really matter as hardly no one will leave them that way.

i dont think my 08 will make 200 on pump, but that would be great!!! To be honest an 08 busa with a 3mil kit (1441cc) and head/cam has proven to be a KILLER!!! one around here has dynoed 231 and KWS has got 244whp out of theirs. They can be ridden on the street without running hot as well. I think stock, busa wins, bolt ons, even, built motor, busa has the advantage.

silver you are saying folks took a brand new 08 busa and bored it already? i doubt you would have to do that to make it run.... but to each their own

I know of a guy that makes billet blocks in what ever config. you want. Ex: 86mm bore w/o cooling jackets that would yield 1500 plus cc on the 08 busa. The block from the Gen1 busa will work with the Gen2 so there is no short supply to have one bored out.

I know who did that one ! Silver08, I'm going to run 2 guys from around here with the '06 14 today.
I met them on Hwy 25 ( where they were testing out their 08 Busas) needless to say they BOTH had a bad day - I was riding 00. One had a Yosh exhaust , the other a Brock exhaust. I'm going to try them on the '06 14 today - I'll let you know what happens.

00Busa, You're gonna need a longer belt for all those notches, lol. And thanks for participating in the ride, we raised $600. I guess it's a good thing that I warned Keith about "00" before the ride or he too would have fallen prey. "Pavement Predator", that's a good name for ya, lol. By the way, Brock said to tell you hello.

Yeah, after talking with him at The Rock, I was thinking about taking off the Akrapovic and trying a S-meg on 00. I'm just having a hard time justifying spending any more money on a bike with almost 100000 miles on it but I DO have one on the 14.

No it's 3mm larger bore. It was 84mm bore with stock (65mm) stroke. making it a 1441.
