Muzzy Turbo...

Now for the money would you expect to weld your frame?
This is not a bolt on kit.
The plates are supplied to you in the kit but you must tear down the bike and weld the plennum (you fab a chamber) to the bike. You must then powder coat the frame once again to protect the chasis.

I am glad they came up with this unit.
I would like 1 but 1 thing holds me back.
I dont want to tear the bike apart.

She is a work of art.
I have a long weekend this weekend.
I think I am going to drop a few hundred kmh on her.
I need to get it broke in...

Rob Muzzy can you chime in on this ....

1. Does it come with boost ,fuel gauges and mounts for the gauges.

2. Fuel pump and pluming..

3. Some kind of timing retard system.

4. What if anything we need to buy extra to set up the system.

5 . Does it use a drain back system from the turbo or does it need a pump to evac the turbo.

6. Do you supply a P/C map for this system...

That's all i can think of to ask , anyone have any other questions ?

I would call Muzzys with these questions but the last time i called them i got a guy that acted like i was wasting his time ....All i asked was where a wire goes for the air shifter i got from them ...The way he treated me you would have thought i called his wife a nappy headed whore.... So i don't want to call and get trashed again.... Smokin..

"The way he treated me you would have thought i called his wife a nappy headed whore" <---thats the service levels I got last time dealing with them and the reason the Muzzy pipe I originally wanted isn't on my bike.

Talked to them today, pretty helpfull. But for the 4995 I was expecting all the parts to make 275 to 300. With just a $400 dry nos kit I can make 230hp. Some people might perfer the turbo but I will go dry or wet nitrous first. With about a 1000.00 wet kit I can make 290Hp and both nos and turbos can hurt a motor so IMO that's a trade off.

I would like to see a intercooled kit that has the air filter in the body work as opposed to sticking out the side.

My 1st turbo was on myy 00 BUsa - a Hahn kit I bought used.. 275 hp was fun but the topend blasts on pump gas melted pistons.. Water injection or an intercooler are the way to go.

The Hahn kits have an integral waste gate, and if it was like most Hahn kits I have it, it boost creeps. Thats probably what melted your pistons. 275 HP is too much for the Hahn kit, if you can keep it down around 230-240 hp your probably allright...

ZX - I sold the Hahn kit and upgraded to a stage 2 dual ball bearing IC Ghetto kit..

Installed carillo rods - spacer plate was already installed. 330 hp on low boost - 400 hp on high boost with race gas.

Memorial weekend will make it 1 yr without boost.

The 14 with smeg has me satisified for now.

Kewl deal, my friend has a Hahn kit on Busa. It boost creeps, been upto around 15 lbs. He gonna try and use a blow off valve on the up pipe from the compressor before the plenum and see if that helps.. Evidently its been done before with success..

ZX14 TURBO

I TALK TO DAVE TURNER AT MUZZYS, AND IT IS A BOLT ON KIT, NO NEED TO STRIP THE FRAME CAUSE THE PLATES BOLT IN, THEY'RE NOT WELDED IN. AS FAR AS POWER THEY HAVEN'T TESTED IT YET SO THERE'S NO ACTUAL NUMBERS. ANY NUMBERS SO FAR ARE JUST OPTOMISTIC GUESSES. NOW AS WE ALL KNOW MUZZY ( ROB ) IS NOT THE GREATEST AS FAR AS CUSTOMER SERVICE. I FOR ONE WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING THEY SALE. ESPECIALLY SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES AS MUCH TUNING, AND SERVICE AS A TURBO.

Rob hisself is good at customer service. Its the rest of his employees that are lackluster. And if you think ANY other turbo kit is a plug and play or bolt on and go, your mistaken. Any kit is going to have be tweaked and tuned for optimum performance..
