scrubbing in new tires in rain....

Need to have new tires installed today, 500 k ride home and its raining...
Do not like the idea of scrubbing them in in the rain.
Any ideas on scrubbing new tires other than riding them..

I was thinking of using rubbing alcohol and a terry towel?
Any experiences ????

Try a scotch brite pad soaked in mineral spirits..just scrud the shit out of the front tire and do a nice burn out...your set!...or i guess you could do both that way, but what fun is that?

Rain is more abrasive than dry, but the first few miles are maybe more critical.
Maybe not much more critical.
The factories are not generating special warnings.
I would consider that manageable.
Especially on good roads.

so your saying, they will scrub in quicker in the rain as long as I keep it on its wheels for the first few miles?

Never scrubbed in tires in the rain before... in all the years of riding. LOL
Just imagined them being like an armor all'd tire when wet.

well, i 'll be seeing how well the diablo strada's are in the wet!
I did notice they have much steeper tire profile especially on the front tire!
Should make turning in much more fun!

burned about 3/16 tread of the bt 014 yesterday in 450KM, at speeds averging 160 k or so!
tire pressure was 38.5 psi cold.
Mostly all high speed highway riding, not a single burn out! and this last bto14 only lasted 2400km to the tread wear bars.
My friends have been telling me it was because the tire pressure was too high!
I though heat was what killed tire mileage so i ran 38 psi, instaed of 35 - 36 psi.
Hate to see what it would have lasted at the 42 psi recommended pressure.
I think they may be right , cause the center took a beating LOL
