GTR-1400

Is it real or do I have to buy a K1200GT?

This summer in the Alps with Bandit 1200/S -04
added >6800km (>4225miles) to the meter.
Bandit was nice and adaque, but not superb...something is missing
Suggestions? (no jokes, please)

I think it is real. Raptors and Rockets says early next year. Expect the same delivery schedule as the 14. In otherwords late spring. They probably have the assembly line for the 14 series from March until April or so.

Be prepared to wait!!!

The other reason I think it's real is because that is the bike I would have liked but did not want to wait on a rumor that did not turn out to be true! I bought the ZX-14 instead of waiting.

Kawi better hurry up. The aftermarket is addressing the lack of a GTR1400.

Very true. It will be interesting to see what the "factory" versions of hard bags, risers, footpeg relocation, windscreen, and other various components look like.

question is... why would you want a GTR? ZX-14 seems to fit the bill pretty well the way it is.. no?

True, but a little more comfort for long rides would be handy. I've had rotator cuff surgery (total rebuild) on my right shoulder about 6 years ago and I occasionally find myself in a position of "tingle" on the 14. I'm hoping that the Heli risers will help that out. Plus, my head occasionally gets buffetted at my normal riding position - I'm hoping that risers will move me up into a little more clean air. I'm looking for the slightly better comfort that my ZZR12 had, but I want to keep the 14's performance.

Risers and peg lower's is as far as I'll go though - I don't want hard bags or shaft drive on my "sport" bike. If I was serious into touring, I'd have an FJR, ST1300, or R1200RT in the garage too... and that will likely happen in 5-6 years.

Some probs with those conceptual drawings:

Is the seat dished, or is the passenger seat raised? Seems like a lot more height than the ZX14.
The bags are very 'scalloped' at the rear. Would prolly not work well in actual use.

Why GTR?
I need >200kg capasity for rider+passanger+luggage
Busa & 14 have less than 180kg
which means no luggage after installng the bags
& heated grips, alarm, TRE, PCIII, etc
:-(
PS: I am already down from 96 to 86 and now after 4250miles in Europe 84kg
Nina is also 2kg lighter or...she fixed tha scale :-)
