OK this is what i did today.....
After much head pounding and cussing around my shop i have gone back to stock wheel base on my zx14 .... I realy want to see how fast i can go with the stock wheel base ...Looking at Brocks stock wheel base zx14 running in the 9.0s that's where i'm headed.....So i copied Brock and left the stock 17 tooth up front and added a few links to the chain to get it as far back in the swing arm as possible...Brock claimed an inch of wheel base is worth a tenth of a second .... To do this a had to add two links or four pins to the chain , that adds about two inchs to the chain overall and one inch to the wheel base( I added new chain so not to have two master links in the factory chain )...Next is to get a set of Brocks clutch spring spacers .. Brock picked up MPH and ET with a bit more spring PSI .....I'm sure that will help the clutchs last a bit longer also...Now it off to the track and see if i can beat my best stock wheel base numbers of 9.44@147 .... What was your rear gear to get the wheelbase stretched? I am curious to see if you can stretch the wheelbase like on the 12's I run a 16-44 on my 12 I think it is close numerically to the 17-46

The bike has stock gears 17 41.... with that gearing and the extra chain it puts the axle all the way back with just a little room left over for chain ajustments...
