Backfiring

Installed new Muzzy full titanium system plus PCIII and the muzzy map. Bike backfires badly and I have a flat spot around 2-3K rpm.

Any help or suggestions>>>>>>>

Neil

Look down the board to "
Those with a Muzzy system" by swft
This is being discussed right now.

Actually, mine is backfiring w/Brock's. I have the block-off plates and the plugs. Nobody else getting it w/Brock's? I"m not too worried about it, but I'd just as soon it didn't do it.

Brock is in the midst of installing a data logger on his personal 14. That, no doubt will give him real readings on the road, which are going to be different than the Dyno. That will help some, but as others have pointed out...popping on decel occurs with the stock pipes, so it may never go away completely. I have flames exiting my pipes once in a while...maps are a bit rich..give it some time, you'll see more maps from him.

Cool. I'm about ready to "wait" a bit, anyway. I'm ready for a break from all the mods., time, and money. I'm not a tinkerer. I just like to ride!

Removing the flies is MANDITORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Busa got that right. Power commander and flies are manditory even if you just drop it at the shop and let someone do it quick. I'm just trying to do this bike on my own.

Mods have been done for a while, w/the flies coming out last Thursday, or so. Exhaust, TRE, PC w/map, etc were already done. It's a beautiful thing!

No value in that...TRE probably won't do squat with flies out...from what I have heard

Correct. I did not try them separately, but others who have done so, recognized a difference. Above and beyond the flies, the TRE addresses some timing issues, at least in part. So I'm made to understand...Whatever, it runs great!
