Well ok, I rode "a" zx14 today, not "the" zx14 today.
Its very 04 zx10r fealing as far as power delivery and front end lightness on the throttle.
Yet its extremely torquey down low. I better get a billet clutch basket soon.
This engine isnt playing.

When I get "the" ZX14, I'll race you to 10,000 miles.
Seriously, I've been watching the thread on your buildup and I wish you the best. Nice of you to take the time to share everything you've encountered. I'm sure you will save others some pain.
My first offer still stands, though.

short of a crankshaft failure due to a crack or flaw from welding I see no reason the engine shouldnt last just as long as a factory 1199 cc engine.
Having magnafluxed the rods and crank I know there are no surface cracks lurking.
Doing an xray of the crank would eliminate all doubt but i didnt have access to an xray machine. Oh shit, did I demagnatize the rods?
So I guess i'd have to take my chances on a hidden sub surface crack or flaw.
I'd take the bet thou and say the engine will make 10,000 miles.
What are we putting on it?

A beer it is...
Yea, it will get on the dyno. Its going to get a map made anyway so...
I'm looking to setup a dyno day with an 06 zx14 so there can be a real, same hour same dyno comparison. Hopefully the 14r will have a pipe.
