When I turn the key to the start position the fuel pump buzzes.
Any ideas?

Engine has been rebuilt. I've never heard it fire with the new engine. I will start off by replacing the fuel pump...

What about the relay assembly? It is rather old?

i did`nt know about the rebuild.. was the bike running prior to the rebuild.Anyway a relay can keep latching and make a buzzing sound if wired wrong or has gone bad.normally the relay is not at the same location the fuel pump is on a bike.do you have the service book.

The system is very simple. There is only 1 main relay. The bike ran great prior to being down..
