tree trimmer attacks bikers w/chainsaw!

Road rage taken to a new level. I know several who where there; reference links below.

Rowdy tree trimmer pleads no contest

A Los Altos tree trimmer who allegedly waived a functioning chainsaw at a group of motorcyclists on Skyline Boulevard pleaded no contest to battery and received a 20-day jail sentence.

James Chalkley, 47, of Los Altos, switched his plea once prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor charge of exhibiting a deadly weapon. He was immediately sentenced to 20 days in the county jail followed by a suspended sentence of 18 months probation. Chalkley receives credit for 10 days already served since his June 12 arrest in the parking lot at Skyline and State Route 84.

Chalkley was angered when a motorcyclist drove past him quickly, according to the District Attorney's Office. He reportedly retrieved a chain saw from his truck, turned it on and charged up to a group of motorcyclists including the man at which he was angry. Chalkley waved it within inches of the man's face before sheriff's deputies were called, according to prosecutors.

not sure that i agree with calls for the guy's balls since he didnt actually hurt anyone, but buddy defintiely needs some psyciatric assessment and anger management to make sure he isnt actaulyl capable of following thru with his threat one day.

I know a couple of those guys; talked to one on a recent group ride.

He said the guy waved the chain-saw 4-5" from his face, & only missed due to him ducking!

The rider in question asked the DA to do "attempted murder," but the DA plea-bargined it down to a lesser charge. I say bull-pucky...

I wish we had a CCW ability here; I would have holed his head w/me Custom Combat .45acp!
