Very nice. Most detailed and unbiased I've seen so far. The port finish suprised me a little. I'd be more surprised if they come finished that way...

I've almost become "nume" to the hype and testing of "pre-production", "first run test production", etc. It sounds like this thing is a good package. But it would be nice to see something (or better, ride it myself!) written on a full production bike.

Check this quote from motorcycle.com comparing the new Honda to the ZX10R!

"Is the new CBR 1000RR better than the Kawasaki ZX-10R? I don't think so. The CBR feels at least 20 pounds heavier and feels a little slower in a straight line. "

Plus it's ulgier!

I don't know about the ports. You know ,back in the eighties,a magazine accused Kawasaki of delivering a "ringer" for road testing, because it came with matched and cleaned up ports .I think it was the GPz1100 .They printed a retraction after being invited to the warehouse and randomly selected several models in question ,checked the ports ,and realized that Kawasaki was that detailed from the factory.

I think the case is that port velocity is going to make more of a difference on a store bore/stroke motor than hogging the ports out.

It's not necessarily about hogging them out. It's about shape & finish, which figures into the equation of velocity.

Kawasaki has hand finished the ports on some production models for a long time now.
