Gen 1 Cracked Frame Info

After much research, We think we may have found the right way to address the "Cracked Frame" issue with Kawasaki Motors.

We have a specific private group site set up for Gen 1 owners with cracked frames to post information Kawasaki will need.
This is a closed group, only Gen 1 owners with cracked frames are invited...
If you ride any other Gen or do not have a cracked frame, this is not for you.
Please do not comment on this post.
This is for us to compile a list of all gen 1 owners with this problem to contact Kawasaki with.
A Facebook group was chosen due to their privacy settings.
Once you are added to the group, you may add your information.
You can leave this group at any time.

Here is the link to the site.

Ok everyone,

Here is the situation... I made some calls to a rep in SO.FLA.
From what I am being told, if you are not the original owner or,
if the bike is not stock in any way (any aftermarket parts),
or the bike has been dropped in any way, moving or not.
They will shoot you down.

So, if you have any of the above, don't take your bike to the dealership to have them look at it.
When Kawi comes back and says NO, you don't qualify,
you will be responsible for the bill of taking it apart and re-assembling which will be expensive...
And your vin # will be listed & stored as inspected and refused.

So, unless you are the original owner, it's still bone stock, without a scratch on it, your outta luck with that option.

Now, that being said.
Kawasaki is aware of this site, and is monitoring what's being said. Yup.

That's why I started a private site for the rest of the info I have.
And I have more for you to learn.
I'm not posting it in a PUBLIC forum. Let em work for it.

It's high time Kawasaki stood up and acknowledges this problem and takes corrective action.
Because I'm sure this is going to lead to a black eye for Kawi. Bad P/R on their product.
Because when I get everything in order and facts checked,
I'm going to the media and motorcycle magazines with it.
And see just how much noise I can make about this issue.
See if that gets their attention.

I'm digging in my heels and getting ready.

Everyone, please spread the word about this.

If you are the original owner or not, you should all at least contact NHTSA and fill out the online complaint form in the following link:

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/index.xhtml

This is the only way you are going to see acknowledgement from Kawasaki. This is one of the few instances where big government agencies can work in our favor. Use them!
