My 1070 is maybe 375lbs soaking wet..I weigh 190lbs. That R1 has a big bottle of spray...if stock pistons/stroke not going to pull away and nobody can catch up to it. You must have tall gearing? the gsxr jumped out but you reeled him in. That is what I would expect to happen with the R1

Maximus.....first and foremost....unless you're actually out there DOING THIS SHIT don't talk shit. We've already established quite a while ago this really isn't your thing.
Everyone and their mother knows the old R1s were down on MPH. They ran high 160s, just like the old ZX-9Rs. Been there done that.
Throw a proper ram air system and the R1s pick up quite a bit....how on earth do you think an older, heavier, smaller motor 899cc zx9 was able to trap the same top speeds as the true liter R1? Dont' believe me? We routinely go 179.9 to 181.1 mph on 04-06 R1s when they finally had a decent ram air. No less than 10 runs....and we even had a guy crack off a high of a 186 on GPS out at our spot....smaller guy....stock motor pump gas stock ride height....good mods, great tune, seat time.
Now....imagine the same bike model motorcycle lightened up....lowered significantly.....aero mods done (tested and re-tested for the best combo).....possibly good fuel....possibly motor work done (you can have a pretty fast stock displacement n/a bike....Sal and them went 205 at the Maxton Mile on a 2nd gen 10R while I was SPRAYING MY 12 going 203. And Sal outweighs me by an honest 50 lbs (sometimes 40ish sometimes 60 ish at our most extreme swings)
See....what you don't grasp.....and you can't grasp....is that when someone is going over their bike with a fine tooth comb....when they are pulling out all the stops....and keep pushing and pushing and pushing....doing it year in year out.....testing and tuning....is that by the time its all said and done the bike/rider combo is pretty impressive.
Case in point. Bone stock I took that beater $2000 budget 12 on the street, 1st pass 179.9....best I could get it to go was in the low 180s....thats IT all stock.
As soon as I started doing the usual mods speeds went up, the old 12 was impressing me with its decent respectable speeds, all things considered. Consistenly going 193s....and cracking off a 195.6 was pretty respectable as it sat.
But to explain to someone who doesn't do this that I will probably pick up 20 mph from when it was all bone stock....still on a stock motor probably makes your brain hemmorage...you just can't get it because you just don't DO IT.
I thought the same thing about the R1....for a sec......called up Sal....he gave me a rough idea that basically this is no ordinary R1....I had a LOT of respect for that bike/rider combo. And in the real world....while it is not the king of the 9/10ths its showing it can hold its own and do ok.

No nitrous on that R1... but it has benefited from well over a decade of testing/tuning/modding. Oh yeah, the owner/rider is also one of the best LSR jockeys you'll come across. Right up there with all the big names in LSR... yet he prefers to stay low key.
Believe it... that R1 is no joke and neither is the guy on it.

agreed..my buddy have a 2004 R1 and he only has an KN air filter and slip ons but with the introduction or RAM air that jokers power to weight ratio would kill my 2009 R1 I had..

ya i'm jumping on the not stock band wagon also. Ram air and lowering the bike will help but not that much. Perhaps by stock you mean the engine was balanced and blueprinted that would keep it stock but increase the performance. The bike looks lowered and stretched a bit to me but hey the video is cool....Did the ZX10 have an ECU reflash done that would put it at 190hp with stock exhaust.....
Speed is just a question of money how fast do you want to go

Wow that R1 was moving, might be stock displacement but by no means stock engine no way in hell it would walk on your 10r like that expetially in the top end. I have rode a 98 R1 a couple years ago and that thing was strong but did not have the top end pull of my old 05 zx10r, yes the rider may be a pro but that R1 is way to strong to be completely stock...
Great vid by the way!
