Hi people, what's with the hate. What you guys think the ZX14 needs more power? I think it's fast and quick, way too go Kawasaki ! For the riders that want more ponnys, well that's what the performance aftermarket for. Making your bike to your tast well your bolting on your aftermarket performance goodies. If u ask me Kawasaki should be looking at the suspension, not the motor.

I can live with a stock zx14 motor pulling 8.76@155 all day long, I maybe feel the hate from the busa fans, but ZX14.com isn't a busa info hub

Hey I know..........how about traction control, wheelie control, ABS, a bell and whistle that goes ZOOM ZOOM when you start it up and a Rickey Gadson to ride it FOR US, add about 20-30 pounds and jack up the price $2000........that should sell lots of bikes.
I give up...........I wont be buying a new bike for a LONG time...........I'll give my money to a builder and the aftermarket instead of Kawasaki.

I guess I need to have the head ported and shaved and put some cams in.All I want is horsepower and torque.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Even if they do build a bike that put down 20 HP more, I would spend a whole lot less by doing that and putting some of those 47mm TB's on as well compared to buying a new bike. That should give about 20 HP more. If not, I'll move from a 40 shot to a 50 shot.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had some Kawasaki engineers on this forum, then we can give them are wish list lol!
If that photo is the 2012 ZX14 I'm keeping my 2009. There's really nothing new that Kawasaki is offering. Unless your looking for a new ride....
The bike looks almost identical other then the passenger handle at the back of the seat and the abs sensor rings in the discs up front and rear.
Every hyper bike owner has a little capton Kirk in him or her and we all think were riding a star ship, mine is the enterprise.

Well all you guys want more power for your ZX14. I'd love to see someone pick up a muzzy 1570cc big bore kit. The kit comes with 87mm pistons, sleeves, rings, clips and gaskets. Let's not forget the 5mm longer stroke welded crank. The crank I believe is a welded and reground unit thats then balanced , there's a 695.00 core charge .
Believe me you will have too do something with your rad and maybe a second cooling fan but were talking a substantial increase in HP and TORQUE , not enough well maybe a mild port job and a set of cams and springs.
It's ok to be nuts, longs u got poles to hang on too ( handle bars)!

Oh ya 48mm throttle bores will be a must. 94 octane gas if available to help keep the heat down and stop detonation.

Actually the 1570 doesn't have any overheating issues. You wouldn't know you even had a 1570cc engine just cruising around. A second fan is helpful if you do a lot of slow city stop and go riding.
If you run one of our HV oil pump gears you also get more coolant flow as well. Run some waterwetter and your good.
With one of our stage 2 or stage 3 CNC Ported heads, a set of matching cams and our 47 or 48mm throttle bodies and you are talking about 250-260+ hp depending on the tune and fuel.
Rickey Gadson has our head and cam package on his Real Street bike and is making 254 hp on a 2 x 5 1534cc motor.
So yea, the option is there right now for big power. But the 2012 is right around the corner and may be an even better platform to build. We will see in a few months.

I'm shure the BMW is almost two times the price of anything from japan. That being said, save your money for the high performance parts you'll be buying lol. It's funny how BMW comes out with a missile when all the other manufactures apparently have government restrictions placed on there horse power wars.

Jim are you saying if I went with a 4mil crank and stock bore pistons it would still be able to handle street duty? I don't do much block to block riding mainly interstate cruising 2-300 mile round trip

Hi everyone I'm really surprised that anything is coming out of japan. The nuclear reactors are melting down , in turn it's radiating our hole planet and there's really no way to stop the radiation since all four plants reactor cores are breached and melting down. Japan is in big trouble to the point it's becoming a waste land and nobody can live there anymore.

A 2 mil bore and up to 5 mil stroke would be fine. Just dont go 3 mil bore for the street.

no your completely brain washed if if thats what you think.. the atomic bomb AKA fat man, that was dropped and detonated over Nagasaki Japan by the united states on august 9, 1945, at 11:02 am had a very small amount of plutonium in it. Also the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima AKA little boy three days later had even less plutonium in it. were talking maybe 1-2 Lb that was vaporized after the massive nuclear explosions, went up into our atmosphere and spread all around the world.
Now a nuclear melt down is much different. Think of a nuclear bomb as if it was an X-RAY you would get at a hospital, its a quick flash you get exposed for a second.
now a nuclear melt down is like getting a X RAY non stop for years. Also the radiation coming from the plants, is non stop and at much higher levels then any X RAY,Im talking millions of times higher. Radiation is accumulative, so as long as it's exposed, the more radioactive japan becomes and its people.
Check out what happened to chernobyl in the former USSR the hole city is a waste land and people can't live there for thousands of years! and that was only one reactor . were talking 4 in japan that are effected on a active falt line. Oh did I mention the works in Fukushima are basically sacrificing there lives, they are the walking dead heroes , Not to mention 5 million people flead japan already
