2011 ZX10 "real world" numbers..hp and dragstrip

I received a call today from a friend in Puerto Rico who called ecstatic about the results of some early dyno'ing and race track performance. About a week ago he picked up his new ZX10 which he had been hounding me for my opinion since he owns 2 turbo ZX14's and rides one on the street all the time cause he no longer had a stock street bike. With little to no miles he takes the bike to the track, rides the bike himself and only goes 9.7's after lowering the bike and running it just as he got it with 1.7 60fts.
After taking it to the Dyno to try and seek more power, they were dissapointed to see 155hp to the rear wheel. After researching the problem.....itturned out he had been racing it in MODE 1, and by switching the mode selector to the race position and removing the cats, and the secondary butterflies ..........IT WOKE UP!!!!!

The guy who owned the Dyno says his Dyno reads low and a ZX14 with same mods make 165hp on his Dyno.

After dyno runs they go back to the drag and put a rider on the bike that has never ridden a stock wheelbase bike and never foot shifted, so they put 15 pounds on the front of the bike and posted some wheelie fighting runs but still managed to go 9.44 152 with a 1.68 60ft and a 4.23 330ft which is terribly slow, but still managed to go 6.23 in the 1/8th.........all i can say is WOW!

Ricky, do you know what kind of fuel they were using?

The 165 HP numbers seem on par with what I've seen on our stingy dyno for ZX-14s so a 177 is pretty stout.

Thanks

A.

I heard it was because the engine has a tendency to catch on fire and blow when pushed beyond redline.
