My first thoughts are: it may not be quite as powerful as the BMW 1000rr sport bike but will sell just the same as if it were with added power upgrades and being a Kawasaki.....plus it will cost loads less...
I could be wrong about the power as I am sure Kawasaki tested both the BMW and their new protoge in private circles before releasing....I sure have read of enourmous reports about the BMW abroad....be interesting to see how they stack up on the streets...dragracing ect..... 
+1 for the home team in green is my vote...I would buy the 2011 10R if the ZX-14 was not available....truth is I have my 2004 10R because the ZX-14 was not being built in 2004...now it is time to upgrade to the bigger Ninja I believe...call it a salsa1 move....I have my personal preferences as we all do.... 
Should be a rocking 2011 ZX-10R in any case my friends....

but I been sayn' for quite some time the ZX10 would be the litre bike for '11
Kawi had to fix the C14 and Z1000 in '10
they're doing everything right although I still don't care much for the brand

Japanese HP - ain't the same as German HP - LOL, but I'd guess that the curve's a lot fatter on the BMW, instead of a ton of (useless) peak HP.

I just stated I'm not crazy about the Kawi brand. I bought one because the C14 is on top this year for sport-tourers and I happen to like mine
Then you grumpy mofo's get all out of whack haha
And the K1600GT is going to slaughter the C14 anyway. Just the adptive headlight technology alone, not counting the gazzillion other features and HP. Sure it will cost.
But for now, to bring my Kawi up to other brand's reliability factors, I NEVER leave home with the right gear. like my last ride in the hills

Actually look at the BMW power curve to the cbr1000. The BMW had tons of peak power and the cbr had a nice usuable power curve.

The Kawi will be strong "up-top" with the beamer, but the BMW litre leaner's dominant suspension is going to kill it !

I will buy the 1600GT to keep beside my Connie, because it's obviously better - cuz Steve said so.
I like adaptive headlights - they help me see the fucking deer just before I hit it, so I can better tell everyone what happened as I'm lying there in the hospital bed with 6 broken ribs, a busted rotator cuff and a dislocated shoulder.
